  1. Glad they're in the SEC. We definitely don't have to worry about the top freshman missing the tourney this year.
  2. Smith is my pick for ROY, I fully expect him to be the starting pg and Yogi to run the second unit.
  3. https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/247072/RJ-Barrett-Reclassifies-For-Class-Of-2018
  4. Sounds like another pair of hothead brothers at Kansas (the Morris twins)
  5. It was mentioned when he announced it, but not much has been said since.
  6. Exactly, I imagine not getting here so late last season might have helped him later on in the season. I'm trying to temper my expectations but he could be in for a really big season.
  7. Considering the freshmen showed up later I doubt they've made massive improvements thus far
  8. You're questioning why people might want him benched. Seems pretty obvious to me. If he's struggling it makes perfect sense to get him out of the game. Nobody is rooting for the kid to fail (or at least nobody on this thread), but if he looks the same this coming season as he did last season it's time to bring in Ramsey or someone who can keep the offense on the field. I've said multiple times in here that I hope he turns it around, that would be awesome.
  9. People want the best QB out there on the field. What's wrong with that?
  10. Rob's hit a couple big shots in his career and Newkirk had that game tying lay-in against PSU last season in an eventual win. I think we'll see a lot better guard play (on both ends) under CAM. As far as who gets the last shot, it just depends on the situation. Who has the hot hand? Who has a mismatch? We'll see more plays drawn up I imagine. Some look as not having a go-to guy as a weakness, and at times it could be. But I view it as opposing teams don't know who it's going to. Often times if you have a go-to-guy he relies too much on iso ball and ends up with a bad look so I look forward to plays being run to get guys open. If you want a specific answer, I say more than likely our senior guards Rob or Josh.
  11. I remember going to the big win (at the time) against Sparty last year and being astounded at how constantly lost Lagow was at what play was supposed to be ran. So many timeouts had to be wasted because he came walking back to the sideline confused on what to do. Then of course like you mentioned the countless mind blowing passes nowhere near our guys and directly to the opposing teams. Him having a rocket arm means nothing if he can't control it.
  12. I had just went and looked up those stats only to see you'd beaten me to it That's exactly it. Turnovers lose you games. At the end of the day, he needs to turn the ball over a lot less. Needs to focus on making better reads and safer throws. Keep the offense on the field.
  13. He's certainly not good. Mediocre at best.
  14. I was preparing to type the exact same thing. No doubt improvements have been made but those are played up a ton lol.
  15. So disappointed to hear about Patrick but hopefully he takes care of his knees, gets that degree, and has success wherever he ends up at next. Shame we'll never see if he really was "the most talented player on the team". Hopefully Brookins, A-Rod, Majette, Gest, Williams, and a heavy (pun intended) dosage of short yardage touches for Natee will have success.
  16. Unfortunately for you guys Phil still isn't running things in NY because who knows what kind of ridiculous offer he might make.
  17. Oh I have no doubt Phoenix probably still wants him, but I doubt they give up that much for him. NY is not giving up Porzingis in any deal for Irving. Melo and picks is what they're trying to offer. Also, Kyrie doesn't have a no-trade clause, so his list doesn't mean anything.
  18. They could have had Bledsoe/Jackson (or PG) before the draft but passed on it. Now they have a little less leverage so Phoenix isn't likely going to give up both.
  19. Lol you're not getting either of those combos for Irving
  20. NY is going hard after him. Phoenix has been after him for a while now. I could see Denver hopping on board too. A deal of Faried, Barton, and Mudiay for Irving would work financially. For Phoenix you could be looking at something like Irving and TT for Bledsoe, Chandler, and either Chriss/Bender.
  21. This is just an extremely fascinating scenario to me, so much going on. The timing of this, well after the majority of FA, is crazy and surely making a lot of GMs pull their hair out. Boston has to be sitting there smiling as Cleveland self destructs a year early and they have a great chance to overtake the East now. Who trades for Kyrie? Or does Cleveland actually trade LeBron instead and hang onto Kyrie? Also hilarious because Cleveland just hired their new first time GM today. Welcome aboard, now fix this gigantic mess.
  22. He's back at practice. I haven't heard anything on any kind of punishment. Not to downplay it because it was just a stupid thing to do, but it's not a real major incident. Hopefully chalk it up as a learning experience and don't let it happen again.
  23. I've complained about it multiple times this year in a Pacers group I'm in. The Orlando summer league is such a joke compared to the other two.
