  1. Call it a fluke run if you wish (which is hard to do in CFB), but at least they know that even if it is a rarity, Kelly's ceiling is competing for a NC. With IU's resources, so far Crean has yet to finish in the top 8.
  2. I wouldn't let my kid play for Crean.
  3. Fred Glass gave Crean a contract extension for finishing 5th in the Big 10. Give me one example of Glass not accepting mediocre basketball. There isn't, and until he does the thread title is appropriate, as I put it in the OP.
  4. That is the motto of this program until proven otherwise. And until then, he deserves his own thread.
  5. We play Purdue twice, @Iowa, @Wisconsin, @OSU, and host UM. Not to mention at this point even games against NW, Minny, and PSU aren't gimmes. This team isn't making the tournament, and if Crean isn't out of here after this season Fred deserves to be as well.
  6. I wouldn't make too much of this game either way. The month of February is going to leave such a bad taste in this fanbase's mouth.
  7. If we had a number next to our name reflective of this team's potential, it would've been a packed house like it was in 2013. Having said that, State College is a very tough place to get to, let alone for a 7pm tip on a Weds.
  8. I think that Crean got a pass to a degree in the 14 and 15 seasons due to the lopsided recruiting classes he had to take on early on at IU and the subsequent gaps that were going to occur after the 2009 class left. Throw in the buyout Glass was tied down with, and until this season there really hasn't been an opportunity to fairly can him. Everything is fair game at this point. It's not about the money for the admins with the cashflow the BTN and Fox deals are currently bringing in and will bring in starting in 2018. Glass is going to start feeling a pinch on his own job if he fails to take action.
  9. We don't need a flashy hire. We need someone who can recruit Indiana and run a fundamentally sound team. Our resources and fanbase aren't going anywhere. The rest will fall into place.
  10. So you think we're going to win a title within the next six years then? Only way that happens.
  11. I just hate the fact that even if IU goes as far to win the NCAAT this year, seasons like this and this style of play will be the norm from here on out regardless as long as Crean is the coach. This isn't even remotely enjoyable to watch. At least I could get behind the Zeller teams. And I don't mean that as a fairweather fan. I had season tickets as a student for Crean's first three seasons and attended 95% of the games. The 6-25 team was more enjoyable to watch than this team. Everything has been said already as to why this is specifically bad basketball, but beyond that the program is just simply stale.
  12. You know which fanbases aren't having these discussions? The ones who have the right coach.
  13. I find it pathetic that even if Crean finds long-term success at IU, that seasons like this will be the norm rather than the exception.
  14. Watching this team is becoming a waste of time...
  15. Troy Williams started for the Grizzlies this year. No one knows what they're talking about when it comes to this stuff, nor will they ever.
  16. I'll never understand why he was rooming in McNutt to begin with.
  17. This had been hush-hush a few years ago on the old site, but now that he is gone can someone confirm or elaborate on some of the rumors that were floating around the program and Bloomington regarding Kevin Wilson's drinking problem? Had this issue been resolved over the last few seasons because I remember everyone alluding to something his first few years at IU.
  18. This had been mentioned earlier, but considering it got its own article and was just on the front page of Yahoo, I figured it deserved its own thread. Might end up being a blurb in this week's national conversation.
  19. I completely disagree with those saying that there is nothing to be gained from playing these types of games. Yes, the losing part sucks, but we just got a first round NCAAT upset off our backs in November. Losses like this stick around for a while, and if this team is worth anything at all they'll keep it with them and not let a drop-off in effort happen again. I would prefer we play two of these games a year to let our team ween into the season in fairly safe Hoosier-dominated territory. Play at IPFW and Evansville one year, and then at Valpo and ISU the next. Even if the stands are 85% red, it's still a road game against a team that will treat it as their Superbowl. Much more to be gained from those types of games than more filler against Liberty and Ivy-Tech equivalents.
  20. Hopefully the Nets start every game down 30. He'll average 20 a game.
  21. I realize the coaching regimes have changed quite a bit there the last few years, but Penn State has historically played below their standards when they come to Bloomington. Kind of similar to how we play at PSU in basketball.
  22. For the love of....were these guys boozing with Moxon and Billy Bob last night?
  23. We have over 400 yards of offense to their 210. 2 FGs should've been gimmes, missed PAT, 1 pick in the redzone, fumbled return and the kickoff blunder. It should be 34-10 us, at minimum...
