This is my biggest beef and why I'm all in on May. Look when I was at UNC I observed Roy Williams and Coach K I would say that Roy wasn't the smartest guy in the room X's and O's wise but he knew that he had to adjust things when his plans weren't working and he wasn't afraid to ask for advice and help. Coach K would let his assistants yell at him in the locker room to get the victory. I love Woodson as a New York Knicks fan, but I get the sense that he's playing the " I know more than you because I coached in the NBA" card and quite frankly doesn't want to put in the work in college. If May is simply willing to adjust. We will have success at IU again. The recruits will come because of our resources. It's really that simple people. The IU administration infuriates me because they simply don't think about how people gel and ignore personal attributes. I feel like we got lucky with Coach Moran and I think coach Cig was the obvious choice, but coincidently he's actually going to fit well personality wise.... but that's it.

Is there a way we can create a poll in this topic to get a feel on how many think Woodson should stay ( COUGH Ngw7183) and who think we should move on?

I'm convinced. The one attribute we've missed with all of our coaches since Knight was that ability to not be stubborn and ask "how can I get better". Frankly this is the one quality that's missing in many professions.

If anything it says something that he can get a good player to play for his team.

It’s not the truth. I’m 45 and probably constitute what you’re thinking. I’m the one who started this thread. I want change. Personally it’s two things. One is region. Midwestern people are not as forceful compared to people in the South and in the East coast. 2. As a person who worked at Duke and UNC I can say absolutely with 100% certainty that it’s the entire administration that 1. operates under the “good old boy network “ (aka nepotism and who you know), and two don’t feel any pressure because they have a dedicated fan base with high enrollment (like most of the big ten. That’s why we and SEC are the power conferences) . I left Duke and UNC athletics because it was very intense job. High turnover simply because it’s about winning and if you don’t do it, you get fired. There’s certain things the ACC don’t condone like serious allegations like you know what but that’s it. That simple.

I wonder if we can give a good NIL deal to at least make them think it over. We can't touch the NBA but if he doesn't get good offers then I hope he stays. No way he'll be drafted in the first couple rounds.

As a minority personally I understand if there was a misunderstanding. Racist bigots typically don't try to explain themselves. Younger minorities might have a lower threshold simply because well you're young. It happens. Context is everything.

Yeah this is wrong. There’s a reason why I title it Coach Woodson. You can gripe about the performance but never at the man in a demeaning way. It should not be personal but just simply business. Plus as I reiterate time and time again, the administration has more at fault than the coach himself.

There was a thorough system involved (I came the year Roy Williams was hired so I wasn't involved in that) that got everyones input before making the move(Coaches, players, legacy trustees, and prominent donors). I was referring to my current role where I deal with department issues that occur. I wish I can be specific in the athletics standpoint but UNC and Duke have access to this account to make sure to keep stuff close to the vest. They know I'm a big IU guy lol.

Power/control/own legacy. I used to be in the athletics departments at Duke and UNC and now work as independent advisor to Duke and UNC. I get usually called when departments need issues that have to be addressed. Power/control/ legacy are powerful reasons to harm a department you helped build. It's hard to let go of that and tough to accept that maybe your (in this case Buckner I guess) the reason the program is failing.

What do we know about Danny Sprinkle? Utah States coach. They're ranked in the top 20. I've been there and that's real hard to do considering it's primarily a Mormon school (attendance wise) and obviously doesn't have the resources we do. Pretty campus but that's about it.
