It just comes down to recruiting. Trace Jackson Davis is a stud and he is a five star player who I wouldn’t trade for anybody. Our guard play is horrendous! We have depth but when your backcourt starters are mediocre, your going to have an inconsistent season. We need a leader, a quarterback that can steer the ship. Rob is supposed to be that guy, but instead he and the rest of our guards are playing worse than their rankings coming out of high school. I think Archie is an above average coach. Problem for him, his seat will be getting hot. Especially with social media now days, it will be tough to recruit making it even more difficult to succeed. When I found out we hired Archie I was pretty upset . We were hearing big name rumors and I was pumped up. This year I still feel the same. I see what Chris Mack has done and Holtman is recruiting well. Both appear to be better hires so far. I look at Bruce Pearl who has been brought up earlier. He’s a winner, has enthusiasm, recruits well and was a coach where I am from At University OF Southern Indiana. He has a strong following here . Bruce has operated in the grey area and I know that scares a lot of people, but after seeing how UL, UK, UNC, Arizona and many other schools operate, I don’t think it is as important.
