  1. Not true. He didn't recruit the JR class, nor do I believe he would have recruited any of them. It's part of the hand he received. I'm not an Archie apologist, but the JR and SR classes are not his.
  2. I will never disagree with you Chris (and I don't even know you!) but as an alternate opinion, if Cheaney came in and won, the fan base would unite. I'm not sure he is capable of doing that, but it would definitely bring everyone together.
  3. I agree with this. Those names, other than Fife, are simply not attractive. Cheaney and Guyton seem like the only logical names to bring back in the fold to me with a high quality crew of bench coaches. With that said, I also want to see Archie succeed.
  4. Better put my my force field here, but CAM can coach. He knows the game, he know how to manage clock, he knows who his glue guys are and he can recruit. We're awful accusatory of a guy who was left with CTC's leftovers, a bunch of kids who don't care and a VERY depleted program. Kids don't want to play at IU they way they used to. They want to play at Louisville..at Memphis...at UK...at MSU. Archie has to reverse that and it's not going to happen over night. He would have cleaned house and started from scratch if he could have, but he couldn't. His hands were tied. So he does the best with the hand he was dealt. He can't even get rid of guys so just have to deal with this until next year. Also, for everyone who chirps about how Butler has really put it together...look at their program last year. And look at who they have played this year. Yesterday was their first tough game other than Purdue, and they took it on the chin at home. And Dayton...who recruited those players and for what reason??? Yep.Better put my my force field here, but CAM can coach. 5. I threw most of this on the "if IU loses" thread, but thought I would add to it here.. I don't think CAM is doing a poor job; he can't make our guys shoot better once the game starts and he is clearly managing the game the best he can. He got t'd up last night; he benched DG after a sloppy turnover; he uses time outs effectively (something CTC never learned, ever). That's the type of stuff I, as a more X&0 type of fan, like seeing. I struggle with our guard play - who wouldn't - and the fact that seniors can provide zero production. That statement; when guards and seniors don't show up, is what kills us ultimately. Our seniors are not leaders, and our youth isn't ready to lead IMO. RP isn't Yogi although he has a similar task. When our guards play well, we can beat anyone, anywhere. Laugh if you will, but I believe it. We embarrassed FSU and OSU. Both are incredibly talented teams, and we did it both times with consistent guard play. It really opens the court up for us and we don't have to solely rely in TJD. It's a shame someone can't step up and provide that for us consistently from a guard perspective. Aside from that, look at the scoreboard last night...the NCAA is a crapshoot right now. UK, BU, IU, Auburn, PSU, VA, Creighton and Wichita State all lose. We're not alone here people. If we can keep pace and figure out how to get to 19 or 20, we're in a pretty good spot IMO. Other side notes: I don't need to see quite a few of our guys play anymore. Some of them just aren't good enough and they're proving that, repeatedly. "Shooters", can't shoot. "Leaders" aren't leading. Play the grit and heart guys; at least they give a ****. I'm not going to name players as taking shots at teenagers and college kids is Childs play, but I can think of 5 players I would not miss tomorrow, including guys that get regular minutes.
  6. I'm getting many texts from other fans and friends which carry a lot of finger pointing. From CAM, to players, to lack of leadership. Personally, I see some flaws in all three of those areas. I don't think CAM is doing a poor job; he can't make our guys shoot better once the game starts and he is clearly managing the game the best he can. 7. I think this is awesome. Logic or shoe-in might have told us others could have ended up being captains. And with some previous uncertainty around DG, to see that he has earned Archie's trust his absolutely huge. Good for Durham as well obviously, but this DG story could be a real game changer for IU. We've all seen the potential...let it shine, baby!
  8. Just read Morgan was signed by the Jazz after day 1 of the draft??? How awesome is that! https://www.news-leader.com/story/sports/2019/06/21/nba-draft-utah-jazz-reportedly-pick-up-indianas-juwan-morgan/1514831001/
  9. Please don't yell at me. It's not nice.
  10. Awww. So nice. Let's all gather around and do some more complaining.
  11. Some of you need to take a break from this board of go find another school to complain about. Purdue actually sucks and because one kid was convinced by porkchop that he's going to play basketball in the dump of a city, Lafayette, they're not the voice of the state? Give me a break and go hang another sweet 16 banner next to your "IU SUCKS" banner. You don't like IU or Archie Miller, fine, but go complain about it somewhere else. This site was not built to field complaints about recruits and problems with coaches or programs. It's for a group of people who love something...like IU basketball...to get together and talk about it. Good lord, this has turned into a gaggle of pessimists.
  12. You guys should arm wrestle and solve this once and for all!
  13. Can you imagine if Indiana had been named in this scandal? We would have been black balled, given the death penalty, had coaches removed and suffered a multi year tournament ban. I kid, mostly, but how is it that we have a minor infraction in previous years and the NCAA absolutely pounces on us, yet strippers, rapes, pay-to-play, etc. go unpunished. Makes me lose faith...
  14. Can we split this thread between pessimists and optimists? Good lord...
  15. Can't wait for you to eat crow. How's that for realism?
  16. Hey, entire coaching and training staff and anyone else in the room - don't tell ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE, but I'm coming to UK. Keep it a secret, OK - I mean it!
  17. When KB swung towards IU in the fall, UK fans were ALL over him telling him he wasn't good enough to play at UK anyway. All fan bases can be idiots; I'd give it just as good of a chance that a UK fan took a shot at him as an IU fan.
  18. Who said it was an IU fan that tweeted at Keion? I'm sure based on the speculation it was, but UK fans are 80% uneducated hilljacks. They say insane things.
  19. Pessimists! YE HAVE LITTLE FAITH!
  20. Seems to me like this would be pro-IU, not against.
  21. Where is the infamous Chris007 when we need him...attention, we need your attention. UK shifting their focus in the last week to someone new and KB watching IU take MSU down twice in 2 weeks...c'mon now.
  22. Exactly my point...when would he even be available to take an official? Doesn't seem like it's in the cards to me as Saturday would be a major stretch.
  23. I'd like to be glass half full on this, and I hope it's all true. I don't feel like we've been burnt too much by bad info, and this is pretty specific. Let's keep our glasses half full! Also...when exactly is this "official" supposed to start? Would have to be Saturday, right? If not, I guess that answers that!
