There has been a crap ton of Rabby bashing here over the last few months and I don’t get it. If people don’t want to pay for his services or read what he puts out then don’t. why come to another board and bash him? It’s not just you, I’ve read it here over and over again.

Nobody else has come out and said they were out of the running like Goodman did. He’s putting himself out there to look very good or very stupid

He thought he was untouchable and hard to go from that mindset to a forced retirement. He might be like Knight and disassociate himself from IU

This could have happened but too much has happened since his “retirement” for that to be a real possibility. at least I feel confident in that he is GONE

I’m not him or his doctor but if he had aspirations to coach into his 70s I’m game. would he come? Not sure, I hope Dolson reached out to inquire

I think Pearl has a lot left in the tank, he doesn’t look or behave like he is on his last leg. I imagine he could coach for many more years and I think he is an excellent coach that kids would love to play for

Curious why you say this? Most coaches won’t be fired until after the season is over and they will be conducting interviews pretty late in the game. we got a jumpstart but still have plenty of time to find our coach. if we don’t have someone locked up it means we will likely get a sitting CBB coach and I don’t think that is a bad thing

There isn’t anyone that truly fits your question. It doesn’t exist. That’s an odd thing to say you are looking for if you are Dolson. Is Cig uniquely Indiana? Then he was uniquely James Madison the year prior. I don’t think having lived in Indiana should be a criteria or something you look for when choosing our coach and I don’t take those comments to mean that at all. we need a winning culture from our student managers to the players to the assistants, head coaches, trainers etc. Everyone has to be locked in and on the same page, committed to the team and winning first. That should become the culture here if we hire the right guy

That takes a lot to admit. Kudos to you for the self reflection and honesty. i don’t condone violence and despise what he did but also believe that god and the law are to sort that out, not me. Purely as a basketball coach I would be thrilled to have him

I can’t understate the “WANT” factor when it comes to Beard. He wants the big gig, he wants to be at IU. When hiring people I have had people beg me for jobs and I’ve begged people to take the job, the latter rarely works out. If you have to sell someone that hard it likely isn’t the fit you want it to be. i want someone that will be grateful to be here and wake up every morning feeling indebted vs owed

You quoted another poster. You proposed a bet to another poster and I proposed one back to you. I did that because you had said it was a done deal, 100% and you were calling out people that made equally bullish claims that it was 0%.

You said Done Deal which it wasn’t and still isn’t. You then were challenging anyone that didn’t agree with you and brought up betting. I asked you if you would bet me that Stevens becomes the coach. You opted not to. I would be happy with any of those 3 of that is where it lands.
