  1. I made a bold statement earlier saying we would win or at the very least make it a close one but as we saw tonight and you pointed out, our health is a real issue. If we have to play with 8 we might foul everyone out. We will need numbers with the home cooking they will no doubt get Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. Justin Smith not showing up at all was our biggest issue. We can expect some turnovers in a game like that, we can expect foul trouble in a game like that but our arguably 3rd best player being completely lost with no intensity killed us. He was putrid and that frustrates me because he is more athletically gifted than almost anyone on the court any given night Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. Tough loss, hopefully the things that killed us do not repeat themselves. Unable to handle the pressure at the top of the key, careless passes and what felt like a gazillion times, soft passes where the receiving player just stood there and did not go to the ball or shield his defender from it. That and not playing tight on Gafford at all times killed us. We played terribly and frankly still should have won. Not sure if that is good or bad... 4. In other news the sky is blue Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. I think it is certainly a possibility that we could be but we are used to playing deeper than they are so if we can equally get them in foul trouble I think it messes them up more than us Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. I think many of us are still carrying the defeatist mindset that Crean beat into us for nearly a decade. We learned not to get too excited or be too confident because he would always let us down in the end. It’s going to take winning and repetition to get over that but I think this season will be the start of that. From this season on we will not mark L’s on our schedules before games are played. We won’t go into games feeling like we are the big underdog that has little chance. Well coached teams that play together and play with heart are always going to have a fighting chance and I believe Archie is already instilling that. Now onto the Duke game, I think had they not wiped the floor with THE laziest and most undisciplined Kentucky teams I’ve seen in a long long time I don’t think people would be crowing them like they are. They beat up on a team that played zero defense and let Duke run all over them. That will not happen to IU. While talented as can be, this Duke team has little experience and has not been tested at all. They haven’t faced a minute of adversity nor had to play odd lineups or more than 8 guys due to foul trouble that will inevitably happen at some point and I believe it to happen against Indiana. We may not win but I think we have a great shot as we will be the first team with some talent they face that plays team defense and forces them to play in the half court. They play with 1 guard and little guard depth off the bench and I think Romeo and Phinisee are as good or better than him. They have little depth at guard so if Jones gets tired or in foul trouble it is going to throw off their flow a ton and Romeo and Phinisee have drawn a lot of fouls thus far. I also believe that Morgan has been sitting back and playing the team first game vs “getting his” or he would be averaging 20+ right now. He is as good or better a college player as anyone on the Duke roster and he will show it in that game. He needs to stay on the court and out of foul trouble and if he does he will fill up the boxscore. Stay out of early foul trouble and we will be right there with them and I think Morgan will be the difference maker down the stretch to close it out much like he did against Notre Dame last year Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. I think we win at Duke! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. I feel good. I like our starters, we don’t need to play 10-12 deep so some of these injuries won’t be a factor. If we have a solid 8 we are good to go Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. IU by 14. I think this team is under rated and will prove it with two smack downs against Marquette and Arkansas Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. I can’t imagine that individual game holding that much weight but it, along with beating Marquette and Arkansas would make us a top 5/10 team and amplify the hype and talk around our program Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. Yep, I was really hoping for a UCLA loss. He will have plenty i think Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. Romeo. It was Morgan, Morgan, Romeo, Hunter Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. And ron Patterson ended up at Syracuse, or IUPUI Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Exactly Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to want IU to schedule good teams, frankly most have been in agreement for years iu needed to improve the out of conference schedule. I think this years is an improvement but still has a ways to go. It is hard to watch some of these big early season matchups and not get a little jealous IU isn’t in these marquees. IU needs to bump MSU out of that top spot in the big ten and be the class of the league again Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. I hope we win more than 4 games Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  19. It’s a fact that moved us to top four? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. He is awfully lucky that Nasser was there to take all the heat and attention. I am not implying he is as sick or guilty, but because Nasser was the most agregious, all the others that contributed, enabled, turned there heads got off waaaayyyyyy too easy Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. Yep! A few media outlets had the guts to question his involvement or lack there, depending on how you look at it. However, most didn’t have the guts to put him to the fire and fans were silenced from turning up the heat and when the boil turned to luke warm, that was the sigh of relief MSU was hoping for. Now there is no pressure for them to act and it’s business as usual over there Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. And midling level facilities - 6th I believe according to the coaches in the conference Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. Izzo should have been fired last year, everything seems to have blown over there and it’s business as usual. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. Izzo and dantonio skated through as people were silenced and I assume Durkin will too. Will make it nice and comfortable for him I’m sure Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  25. Still have to wonder if our free throw issues are tied to our weight training/workout regiment. It’s odd for the whole team to struggle like we did and have veteran players regress Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
