Cannot see the photos that were posted but yes, that would be ideal not to have. For those that like to joke about it, cannot imagine anyone wishing for them Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

You are like the 3rd person I’ve see mention Smith maybe jumping to the NBA. While crazier things have happened it would take a lot for that to happen: he is a tweener: just not sure what position he would play in the NBA with his current skill set. I don’t see him being able to guard 4s ins the nba like OG could and I don’t see him being able to stay in front of 3s right now. Maybe he gets there but it would take an Oladipo and then some type jump Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I like this debate but will only make one more response on this in this thread as we are a little off topic I am arguing that student athletes get more value than the average student, yet the average student is paying tens of thousands out of pocket to get less than the athlete gets for free. That family that you referenced would have been saddled with debt but instead are relieved of any financial obligation. They basically took an expensive child off their bottom line and put it on the university so if that isn’t immediate help I don’t know what is. Secondly, the value of an education and experiences they have living on campus is worth a lifetime of money and stability. Without college and these universities offering, many would not go to college at all and would stay stuck in a bad situation. Net net is that the value a school offers is large, impactful and immediate as well as long term. The odds of these kids making it to the pros and becoming millionaires is slim and taking a $50k handout from a leach isn’t going to last long without the skills toward continued employment/career Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Of course they can! Give a person a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats well for a Lifetime. The education and experience they are getting for free that all other kids and their parents are paying for is provided free of charge. It’s worth millions over the span of ones lifetime. I still don’t understand how people say they aren’t paid. They are being compensated more than the average working adult! The amount provided in free education, meals, housing, transportation, coaching, training, medical etc etc adds up to a ton and way more than hard working individuals that have college degrees and work full time Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I’m not sure what revision or narrative you are referring to but the reasons we went through such a MASSIVE rebuild were that Crean kicked some kids off for crappy grades and likely other reasons, other kids did not want to stay and play for him, recruits did not want to play for him, he refused to build out a balanced team with transfers/Jucos, and he wasn’t the right fit. That in a nutshell was our first year or two with Crean. It wasn’t the sanctions and such that drug us to such depths, it was our own doing and own choices that did that. Had he kept on some of the returning scholarship players and retained recruits and filled in gaps with some experienced transfers and jucos we could have remained a respectable team but that’s not what happened That said, looking at the more recent scenario, Archie retained the entire team and recruiting class and avoided a massive setback. We lost Cujo in-season but 1 transfer under a coaching change isn’t bad. Now we are poised to hopefully be back in the tourney in year two Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2019) SG Armaan Franklin to IU
MikeRoberts replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Cool. Maybe I haven’t grasped the points of others but my opinion and my take on others has always been that facilities do matter and updated/nice ones are part of the overall draw and if they are not on par it can only hurt. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Nobody said we were losing recruits to drop ceilings. Secondly, it’s been stated that it’s an overall PACKAGE, education, facilities, coaches, fans, history etc. the facilities part was lacking and it was hurting the overall package we had to offer. If it wasn’t, then why waste the money? Why would IU demo a functioning locker room for a better one? Maybe because it helps the overall package and they understand that.
