Thanks for starting this thread, 1976. I don't know about Leal starting. But, definitely think that Galloway should. Woodson likely won't start either of them unless he has to. But he should imho. Oh well. Gear on. And I'm ready for this. Good luck Hoosiers!

Just notified: Indiana at OSU changed from Saturday noon 2/19 to Monday 7 PM 2/21. There are four of us that are going. Too bad..daughter has birthday on 19th. Happened because Iowa at OSU is rescheduled for 19th.

Changing my prediction because Woody may start Trey. We have to have someone besides Xavier to initiate the offense. Plus, Trey is a better defender than Kopp and PS. And Trey will make his own opportunities, too. MSU doesn't have one or two players that carry the load. The whole starting 5 scores. They also are better than IU in assists and offensive rebounds. And should I mention shooting the 3 and free throws...MSU is better. Since IU's offense needs something. That something is Trey. I predict: Indiana 75 MSU 68 All depends on changing the starting 5 and inserting Trey. If Woody doesn't then draft craft beer or decent bourbon and sayonara NCAAT.

Teams that the whole is more than the sum of the parts impress me. Those that share the ball to make others look good. High assist rates and good team defense are certainly indicators. They seem to have very strong ball handlers. They have initiators that have great court vision and take advantage of situations and matchups. They do the extra work in screening, thinking, rebounding and blocking out. When the tide turns against them, they still try to do the right things. Good sportsmanship is also part of it. Both on court and off. They pursue an education. Shows, in part, that they are becoming adults and productive members of society...respecting others and themselves. One would hope that they win a few more than one would expect. But that does not always happen. Of course, a great coach is a requirement.

I do not want to say this: MSU 72 Indiana 67 Gym Izzo beats Woody.

Seems to me that the constant early whistles took the wind out of IU's fast break. IU got lucky by being up by 2 at the half. TJD never got into the flow of things because of Illinois' 300 lb Kofi. And Kofi was allowed to elbow and walk all night. With no fast break...and not dominant in the middle...guys just stood around... IU is really a one trick pony. And the pony came up lame. I was hoping that Kofi would get whistled for fouls. But, TJD got frustrated and was called for his. TJD and Race need to be able to roam around. If they don't...what is IU to do? Hit 3's? Yeah, right. Not blaming anyone. Cheering for ole IU! But we need excellent recruiting. Help is on the way. Right? Right? uh... yeah. I hope.

And why does everyone stand around on offense in the 2nd half waiting for TJD to score? No mas!

With the way Cockburn throws his elbow and walks, IU missing shots and free throws, and TJD's fouls...we are fortunate that we are ahead.

Defense on the 3 needs to be at a high level. Transition offense is a money maker. Woody keeps working the refs. Would be nice if we got contributions from all the starters. Keep Lander off the court in close games, please.

Secret weapon: IU learned how to win last game. Know your opponent. Extend our defense just past the 3 line. Mess with MD's guards. That is their major asset...their guards.
