  1. I would also feel great about him being our next coach. If you give him the resources available at Indiana, he would succeed and may be our next Bob Knight. I would list him at the top or near top of my B candidates. My A candidates are Stevens, Donovan, and Hoiberg.
  2. I have witnessed 28 years of SC basketball now, so I will give my $.02. Martin is a good man although his ethics have been questioned while coaching high school ball in Miami. He gave his players $. He has been suspended for his sideline abuse and profanity, which occurred a year or two ago. He's a good coach and has run off talented players who had off court issues normally to the tune of 2-3 per year. He got spanked by UK this year and recently lost a 4 OT game at home to the powerful UGA Bulldogs. He has never lead the Cocks to a NCAA birth although they should make it this year. He won at Kansas State with Huggins players and has never recruited the Midwest. Bottom line...He would be a huge upgrade to our current, but way down my list of others. I would put him as a C candidate.
  3. Poor Davis couldn't get it done at UAB either but he found his niche at Texas Southern. Just about what we all believed his ceiling was. Creans trajectory might not be much higher. They have similar offensive game plans which is dribble dribble chuck on up. Bracey Wright then; Yogi/Blackmon now.
  4. How about an SEC record 10 or 12 straight 9 win seasons I believe. Plus he came within a play going to the NC game. Big mistake by Georgia. Crean couldn't hold Richts jock and his win loss record proves it. I get what you're saying though.
  5. Good thing your sister didn't graduate from Kentucky. Those bets are horrible.
  6. I don't need a home run hire. I would give Fort Wayne's coach a chance before I would let Crean get another year. I can't think of another comparison where a school gave more time and lower expectations then IU and Tom Crean.
  7. Plus he can cherry pick our Mr. Basketballs knowing Indiana can't sign them. We also fired his sister.
  8. I had planned to drive up from SC with my son to watch a game this year. Happy it didn't work out. Never will I ever as long as Crean is our coach.
  9. We played well enough to win. I literally want to throw the remote thru my TV when Crean starts the cheerleading Bs. God he is so bad, and I have watched this crap show for 9 years. If he's back next year, I will boycott the season. I just can't take anymore of this. I feel so badly for all of his past and current players.
  10. Never seen that kind of a crap call double foul in all my years of watching basketball. Some don't want to hear this, but this is a game Bobby Knight wins. He would have been on the officials for the first half foul calls and owned them the second. That is as long as Terrible Ted Valentine wasn't officiating. Crean never wins close games.
  11. Gotta love how hard Morgan plays. Usually outmatched he's still our best post defender.
  12. Year 9 and we still cannot execute a post feed.
  13. We have a chance as long as Johnson doesn't shoot. Crean needs to give him the red light.
  14. Spot on with the thread x 1000. Indiana basketball has always been thought as smart & highly skilled players, tough d, and better coached basketball. We all see everything were lacking.
  15. Even you think about the last decade of Indiana basketball, just how many close games have we won? How many coming back from 5 with 5 minutes left? The only one close game for me that's comes to mind is Michigan there for the Big. Guess what Crean does after winning? Picks a fight with their bench afterwards. You know what he's thinking and it isn't about adding #6. Those close games are where the rubber meets the road, earning a paycheck, being an Indiana coach.
  16. Crean 2-14 vs Wiscy at IU. Last time he won in Madison he was coaching the golden turkeys or whatever their mascot is. What more needs to be said? The time is now.
  17. TB was pushed into Happ by Showalter. Happ pushes Davis to get the steal and breakaway. Wis pushes, grabs, and hacks more than any team we play. Why not get T'd up over this bs instead of out of box warning? Officiating is horrible.
  18. With a decent offense we could easily beat this Wisky team at #9. What does that tell you? So badly do we underperform with our talent.
  19. A smart coach has Johnson coming off screens instead of constantly trying to create and turning the ball over. He is a turnover machine and combined with Newkirk make a Crean backcourt.
  20. Of course we get home cooked in Madison. They already know we spot them 10 with our head coach.
  21. Continuing to have shot clock violations = continuing bad coaching. No way we should be this late in the season with these turnovers. This will never be Indiana basketball even if he's here 10 more years.
  22. Dear Tom: 1. Play Davis more 2. Play Davis with Bryant. Purdue runs the high low with 2 bugs so you can add it to your playbook while studying film on them. Painter is a master technician. 3. Start Green 4. Don't call anymore timeouts. Now I know why you always save them. The handoff play didn't work either time you ran it. Just run our reg offense of chuck and heave has better results. This may help you get a few more W's at Indiana to surpass the 55℅ winning rate all-time, but I still want a new coach.
  23. Stevens, Donovan & Hoiberg in that order and you will get your man. Too many moving parts in the NBA and I believe one of these would come. I think Stevens gives us a hard look no matter how well he's done in Boston. It's Indiana!
  24. Does anyone feel better except Tom & Glass? Didn't think so.
