  1. Stole one on the road. A few more and the path to 10+ wins is much clearer.
  2. Yes there are dozens of reasons he should be let go regardless of results. Wins are the result of sound processes — recruiting, player development, game planning, coaching, etc. Woodson is severely deficient in all of those aspects of a program, which is why his results are less than they would otherwise project to be. But it will take balls to move if the rest of the administration is good with mediocrity.
  3. Don’t forget it’s all premised on making the Tournament. That can be considered a “success” even though some had higher expectations. With most programs, that is a good year. This “success” makes administrators wishy washy and less likely to make drastic change. Thus, Dolson doesn’t have as much support for a firing as he would if we aren’t close to the tournament. It would be a bold move to fire a coach who makes the tournament, especially if you don’t have a sure thing lined up. All I’m saying is if we make the tournament, don’t be shocked if Woodson is back.
  4. It’s going to be an administration battle royal if he makes the tournament and we try to fire him. Quinn will still be around. He probably gets an extension. Is Dolson really going to have the balls to go against some of the power brokers? He’d be risking his career, to fire mediocre mike. I don’t see it. He’ll focus on football instead.
  5. The fact that we are talking about bubbles in Jan tells us everything we need to know. Fire Mike Woodson.
  6. In my mind the next two weeks is it for the season. If we can steal away wins against Penn state and iowa, and beat USC, that leaves a battle with IL at home. If we take that one, we are in the driver’s seat and have momentum. If we lose to Penn state and iowa, we see IL at 3-3. It only gets more difficult from there. Woody’s got one big a$$ hump in front of him.
  7. You’re talking brackets and Q1. I am just talking likelihood of wins. Suffice it to say they have to win a lot. Like I said, show me 10 wins. They have 2, with 8 home games left. They win them all they are there, BUT that means beating IL, Purdue and UCLA. Say they win 1 of the three, then they have to find 2 away games to win. Maybe Wahington? NW? OSU? There just aren't any cupcakes left on the schedule.
  8. Once again, someone show me 10, let alone 12 Bigten wins. With no quality non conference wins, they basically have to run the table. Any home loss means you have to pick up an extra one on the road. Given the Woodson era, It’s a tall order.
  9. The odds are really against it. In Woodson’s best year, we lost two head scratchers at home (NW and Iowa). We win the 8 remaining home games gets us to 10 wins. Would need to pick up at least two on the road, and we don’t get another shot at Minn. This team would need to do an epic turn around, Woodson would get coach of the year and an extension. :)
  10. Yeah, in order to make any progress he's going to need to beat currently ranked IL, UCLA and Purdue at home as well as steel a couple on the road. Penn State is next up.
  11. Please show me 12 wins? That’s a pipe dream.
  12. Frustrating team. Where was this a dozen games ago? Decent showing all the way around.
  13. Actually I think right now the fan base is pretty united, just not in the way they hoped for. :)
  14. So someone start bribing Michigan assistants. :)
  15. In what alternate universe am I living in where it’s an expected loss at Penn State? SOBs beat Purdon’t and lost to Rutgers. Please wake me up from this nightmare. Fire Woodson
  16. Let’s not forget the assistants follow the lead of the head coach. So we don’t really know much about Calbert and Hulls. There is talk of Calbert teaching Ballo to shoot FT left handed, so there’s that. They should be free to apply for a job with the new guy. My understanding is Fife retired and is now in the insurance biz.
  17. Archie is a way better coach than woodson. His “system” works at smaller schools in smaller conferences. He like many coaches failed to adapt to the big time.
  18. Dude had everything handed to him to build a great program. But then he started "working" and we found out it was just an empty suit. What a waste. Frustrating.
  19. Can attest to the late 1980s. Rarely saw anyone from the team out during the season. Before and after, well what happens in Bloomington, stays in Bloomington. :)
  20. It is absolutely connected. Football mucsles and basketball muscsels are completely different. How many other teams do you see sending pics/video of their workouts/bodies?
  21. Frankly, it shouldn't take Woodson or any coach. It's called pride in your performance. I remember the old days when the Little 500 guys would abstain all semester -- that is until Saturday after the race. And they where just doing it for fun. :)
  22. I have no issue with these guys being college kids. However, during the season discretion is in order. A few cold ones after the game, no problem. The night before is better spent eating well and getting some sleep. There are plenty of nights to party hard in the offseason.
  23. As my kid said -- gotta watch those stairs at the Upstairs Pub. Their pretty steep. :) But, yeah, let's blame twitter. So typical of these guys.
