Maybe I’m delusional but barely making the tournament should be a negative at a school like IU. Like you said, Woodson will probably fumble his way into the tournament this year. Three seasons ago was a play in game and a throttling by St Mary’s. Then another berth and smacked around by Miami. Several tournament berths but unimpressive showings. I would hope the next coach with IU’s NIL consistently has IU AT LEAST as a 5 or 6 seed in the tournament every year, which would also translate to being in the top 25 yearly and in play for B1G championships. Those should be the expectations, but like I said, I’m probably delusional.

Fair point. However, my comment stems from Woodson's actions, which have obviously divided the fan base and his reluctance to accept any responsibility for team performance and failures. Cronin has shown many of those same traits.

Records and stats aside then, Cronin kind of annoys me and Drew doesn't when it comes to listening to them talk. I'd rather have Drew... Culture is a big factor that everyone is listing (including me) for this next hire. Drew would be a much better culture fit in my opinion.

Uhh, yeah. It lost me right there. I wouldn't consider IU a bigger brand than Kentucky right now. It totally has the capability to exceed it but it would be difficult to argue for right now.

I would have to do some digging but I believe my "grade" of the hire was a double as well. It was evident early on with Miller that it wasn't going to work.

If I recall, Miller was considered an "ok" hire at the time due to his past runs with Dayton, but we all know how that worked out. That's why most here are wary of going with the mid-major flavor of the month type for this hire. Regardless, you make a good point. The mismanagement of the IU Basketball brand has been atrocious through some of these past coaching hires and it can only go up from here.
