General Coach Candidate News
yogisballin replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This may seem crazy but, why don't we hire May and Woody stay on his staff. I want to root for both of the guys. Both care about the program. With May, there are lots of questions. The biggie, recruiting. Fisch making that statement absolutely scares the hell out of me. Prior to yesterdays game, I was at a 4 out of 10. Now, I'm at that 9.5 range worried. Fisch has been doing this a long time. He's seeing something -
Guys and girls. It’s been since 98 (the year the building opened) since we beat Wisky at Wisky. Listen, used to, you never worried about these stiffs. It has been since 19 ******* 98. Why can’t we have nice things? I hate morale wins. But I loved our fight tonight. Week off, is what the doctor ordered. I am very interested in seeing where things finish. I can see 13-7 in B1G. However, it could be as bad as 8-12. I’m really pulling for Woody, I’m so sick and ******* tired of sucking balls. What if we kept kelvin sampson? Do we win at Wisky with Ware? One has to wonder

Well, in my defense. I was a kid at that time. So…and I agree with HoosierHoopster

Hey, I done the same. I remember catching so much **** for it too. At that time I was only 14-15 yr old and I took it hard. At the time, I loved RMK and everything he had done for IUBB. But some of his stuff was getting so old and it felt like even the players were tired of it. Just by the way they played for him, his voice was old. but also, being in RMK’s shoes. Having all that power probably went to his head too. And that’s an easy road to go down and not realize it before its way too late.

Yeah, I agree. Definitely fun to watch and what I'm getting ready to say is no slight to those teams. However, in comparison. The program feel was nothing to same of just year in and out expected to win the B1G/make a run to the Final 4. Those 4 years of 12-16 was the "we're back feeling?" But then realizing you're not and now we're 3 coaches later. Idk, where I'm going with all this. Dammit, I just want IUBB to be the same well oiled machine I watched back then. I'll just stop here

Said this to my son with 6.6 secs to go when we didn’t know who the ball went off of with Reneau. Win or lose. I feel good moving forward, everyone played well tonight. We might accidentally be good. Juwan Howard has been out, that’s a huge loss. Michigan is better than record. I’d like to see them get him back. They got talent Gallo- I’m cutting him slack. We know he can shoot (has a hitch in his fit up) but we know he’s capable of shooting. He’s played out of position this year, he’s not a PG but serviceable. Great at the spot for designed olays here and there. And oh yeah, I case you forgot. He usually guards their best perimeter player on the other end.

Bracketology and Team Resumes
yogisballin replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
May affect our team at seasons end? I’m concerned about it affecting it for seasons to come. The brand of basketball we are playing is just, BORING! Kids these days want to run it up and down. Play uptempo basketball -

Well DAMN! I've been excited about this kid since his commitment. Not saying that I personally have seen something in his game because all I have seen is on TV. Our guards suck out loud and I've never been an XJ fan. Too many peaks and valleys for me but I know someone is gonna reply with something like. Fans want to blame him for bad games and praise him for the good. No worries for me, not a fan. Never been big on him as he likes to call out teammates to the next level out on the floor. It's ok to do this but not the way he goes about it, which seems extreme at times. I still have hopes for Cupps however, he seems afraid to shoot right now and of course he needs to get stronger/bigger. I mean, he's a coaches kid that's won state championships
