I don't think any reasonable person would see it as a flaw. Making runs to the Elite Eight and Final Four most years and breaking through one year to win the national championship. That's a run of consistency any program would love to have.

My first thought was that Archie would have everyone announce together like the assistant coaches. But Hartman already announced he was coming back so I guess that's not in the cards. Must still be weighing their options.

If Ostrom is coming on as an assistant I don't think you can have Hawkins. You can only afford to dedicate one of those assistant positions to a pure recruiter. Need the other 2 to be actual coaches I imagine.

All these people just throwing out names of former players: do you not recognize how valuable an assistant coach position is when you're limited to 3? Most of this board rightfully shot down Alford because he just wasn't that good of a coach (and, yes, a scumbag) with the argument being, "If he didn't go to IU would we even be considering him?" And that's a guy who's been coaching D1 basketball for a very long time. But we should hire some unqualified former players because... I don't even know.

Akron message boards don't seem to think Groce has a chance, for whatever reason. Couldn't tell if they were informed or not.

He's only been a coach in the D League for 6 months. And before that, nothing of note. I know he's an "Indiana guy" but I would rather have Groce.
