Yeah continuity is nice and If the Fresno state coach doesn’t get sick which causes him to retire from coaching I’d say deboer stays. It’s a sucky circumstance but I would’ve given deboer 2years anyways if he came to doing anything close like his precious stops. He’s a proven OC and did big things at small college football. Yeah it sucks but we aren’t dead in the water. Guys seemed to catch on pretty quick to an elaborate more complex offense in one offseason. I’ll trust they will learn again. I’m sure Allen goes after a same philosophy guy, wording changes but concept similar to what deboer runs. He will go after someone who is going to get the ball in playmakers hands.

Yeah it sucks but we aren’t dead because we lost a coordinator. There’s money to spend and several candidates out there that have shown what they can do with lesser athletes. IU is an intriguing place for someone who wants to call plays and make a name for himself. IU returns a bunch of playmakers and talent on the offense. Not to mention most of the big time players have several years left. Will be interesting, I assume Tom will go out and spend money like he did last year.

Weekend visits went well. I was off on some of the verbals. Francois never made it. Sounds like he’s Nebraska bound. Harris had a good one...per twitter seems like his mom really enjoyed it and she had a great time. Georgia offer for Robertson doesn’t change much, plus on their boards they don’t really seem to want him....in their words he’s not a 4* guy....so they don’t want him....Magnuson looks to be on hold til next week... baldwin is another big time pickup by hart. Bonds comes from a good school is seems to have the smarts as well....another great add. Expect Jalen Williams (current TE verbal) to be dropped by IU due to academic problems. We secured his replacement in AJ Barner just a few minutes ago...athletic long TE. Flipped him from Ohio. I know what many will think...we flipped a Mac school verbal....watch his film and see what he brings. Also he just received a nice bump in ratings for those who care about that. Great weekend

I doubt there’s a change at DC. It was his first season. Yes he runs same defense as Tom did, but his philosophy stems from his LB days it’s a lot more man coverage than what Tom ran. I’ll give Womack another year implementing his philosophy and scheme. Needs to work on timing and pre snap time. Overall we saw flashes of what the young defense can be. We also saw glimpses of what we don’t want it to be. If next year is iffy, then I say you test the market and pay someone well.

True. But we did it with deboer and Allen went hard after him. Was turned down once and came back to him....glass and co gave him $800k. Ontop of more money for other assistants. It’s a step in the right direction, meaning giving support and backing the football squad. So in two years counting this extension contract...as one of those Allen has opened up $1.5m in money for his supporting crew

If we lose him there’s other good offensive minds out there. Not to mention you have offensive weapons to help sell.

Deboer I’d say you are correct. Maybe we will be surprised, but he will be offered and it’s a nice position to be in....going to the last school you were at and can probably keep the staff together....nice gig. Idk what the pool is at right now Total, I know Schiano got a ton, but he needs a ton. Right now I believe deboer is at 800k, Ballou is at 500k and has a pretty nice tie in with HC. RHea has a nice $$. Along with hart getting a raise I believe last year to keep him around. But hart is supposedly being tossed around programs for OC job. I wouldn’t mind raising him and trying his hand at OC and going around and finding a young offensive mind to groom for when the time comes for greener pastures.

Recap- short and sweet offense- had moments, had what in the world moments....especially the line....during those 3 series where they forgot how to block. Sampson James just needed to get in a groove it looks like. Westbrook came up big, hendershot will play on Sunday’s with his blocking and receiving. defense- still unsure about Womack. He’s shown to be a great second half adjuster. This game it was a great first half followed by a bad second half. Special teams all in all were great....coverage....punting...Justus just had a bad day mentally and I’m sure the field wasn’t that great....but in warm ups he couldn’t miss....so not sure about that. I think inge has done well compared to last year. on another note.....uh aiden O’Connell....talk about under the radar. Kid should use his last few games to get starting job permanently....if brohm still gives Plummer a chance I would test the market. Kid can play. Very calm in the pocket. Outstanding reads. Bravo to him....I know I shouldn’t be pumping the boilers....but that kid showed he deserves to be named the starter....not sure how sindelar won out.

Vols vs IU would be fun for many reasons....their offense isn’t that prolific and their defense has been great lately. They sure have turned around a scary beginning. UK just has Lynn Bowden on offense and their defense can be super stout at times. But Lynn Bowden is an amazing athlete. Also for Vols matchup....we recruited a ton of kids that have gone there and have been on some in this class...now this game will come after signing part 1, but still would be fun to beat them.

I wouldn’t mind Tennessee. Mainly because we haven’t shown great things against running QBs. Lol. Lynn Bowden (old IU verbal) is a force to be reckoned with.

This weekend will be a big one for top targets. IU has some top guys in town and I could see maybe 1-2verbals. 1 verbal could come from Barner who is not listed for an official this weekend. I will list those who have not given A verbal. 8 guys have given a verbal to IU will be on campus to help recruit more to this family. Okay I will take Twitter and other sites out of it there’s still people on this board who at the beginning of the season wanted to see a bowl....wanted us to win the games we should...thought we’d get beat in Nebraska and possibly blow it against Maryland. Becuase that’s what past teams and coaches including CTA have done. Once we hit a bowl and then the next two wins....we are back to this team still hasn’t beat a major team...let’s wait til we do that....so I’ll stick to why I’ve seen on here and read on here. It’s like moving the goalposts every time this team hits a goal and telling them nah sorry you have to beat teams with amazing records or winning records to get respect from IU fans. It’s a joke. It was just win winnable games and be decent and get to a bowl. Everyone was whining for the past two seasons....Tom has missed the bowl. He needs to get to a bowl. Well he’s made a bowl and he’s 8-4. Eight......and Four. Stop moving the goalposts and looking for ways to discredit this team. This staff and HC did what many felt like they wouldn’t do....this team won multiple big ten games.

I know football will never be at the same level and I know a football coach will never be paid what a b-ball coach is paid. But I was stating there should be support when a coach does well at IU and he’s doing even better on the recruiting trail and actually building depth. Many believed he would fail this year and even tho the teams he beat didn’t have great records....he did what was asked and he won games we would’ve lost in the past. I’m stating reasons for an extension and others I’ve seen have said he hasn’t kept in state talent in...... so I brought up basketball and Archie...I realize basketball recruiting the state says more because that’s what IUBB fans are brought up on and cream couldn’t recruit anyone to stay home really, but allen has hit home runs and steals from Florida which are typically better than in state recruits, it’s not necessarily coming from this board, but others are upset with misses from this staff on other sites and intranets....yet it gets overlooked and talked down on....so I brought up basketball in that sense. Then you threw in the you’re jealous/hateful towards iubb....of course I’m going to react the way I just did.... fwiw I wish nothing but success for IUBB

I’ve talked about IU basketball maybe 3-5 times in recent months....I’m sorry I’ve struck a chord with you. I’m stating what I’ve seen and heard everywhere. Everyone loves miller for what he’s done in recruiting terms....Tom Allen just had one of the best season at IU. Yet you have people all over boards and the intranet saying well he hasn’t recruited well in state we need more guys here and well he didn’t beat anyone so no extension. So I brought it up because I’ve seen it and heard it ever since the extension talk started. So it was relevant to my argument that this staff is bringing in the same or not better recruits that we’ve ever seen at IU on a consistent basis. I’m not jealous of basketball but continue to think that. I do not enjoy watching basketball. I watch during the tournament to be a degenerate and bet. I was a wrestler in hs. Do I wish IU football had more of a history and tradition sure....but if you wanna make you sound so big and bad by saying I’m jealous or hateful towards basketball....okay. You win, but Ah never-mind. Ive obviously hit a chord and for that I’m not sorry. I think I’ve been fair....I’ve never said death to the basketball team like you make it sound....I want the team to succeed and win....I just want the football team to do it as well as I’m more invested in that sport. I’m a fan of all IU sports just football more....so do I hate IU basketball nope am I jealous of them nah not really just wish the football team had support and tradition. Should football be given time to build for once yeah....should they like how recent IU coaches have been treated....probably if you want IU football to actually find a foundation to build something. So yeah I’m vocal that I think IU football gets the short end. Now we are off topic and I’ll stop. But I’m the bad guy got it.
