Notre Dame grad xfer RB Justin Brent
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Why? I am not so sure I would take Brent over Ellison or Barrett. Brent may have an opportunity to get on the field faster because he's physically and mentally mature, but there has to be a reason why someone as talented as he is never saw the field. Then take into consideration he recently moved to RB from WR. Do his talents really lend to being an RB? Or was he not able to crack it at WR and tried his hand elsewhere? I would rather have four years of talents like Ellison and Barrett, who are coming in as RBs, than two years of Brent. I don't think this is a Jordan Howard-type transfer. And Camion Patrick is unique in his versatility. Of course, I trust DMC and the rest of our offensive staff to make the determination. Maybe we take two RBs, one freshman and one grad transfer. Per Adam Rittenberg, Kevin Johns hired as the OC at Western Michigan under new HC Tim Lester. Happy to hear Johns landed on his feet. Should be a good opportunity for him. I'm not sure if Lester has called plays before, so maybe Johns will get that opportunity. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2017) S R.J. Potts to Cincinnati
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
This one sucks, but I kept seeing us recruit other safeties and hadn't heard much about Potts. Wonder why the staff wasn't so high on him? Good luck to the kid, he's a stud. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
IU vs. Rutgers official game thread
akhosrof replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Steve Pikiell is an excellent coach, if we let Rutgers hang around Pikiell will put his team in a better position to win down the stretch. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2017) ATH Lynn Bowden to Kentucky
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Great get for them. Their top RB declared for the draft, and their top WR is graduating and transferring. He'll get immediate PT and UK has a solid offensive line going into next year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Romeo was expected to be at the Duke/L'Ville game today, according to Twitter. Likely watching one of the two teams he'll play for. Louisville is looking awesome. They are near impossible for any team to beat when they are hitting threes like they are today. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Easily the best college football game since the 2006 Rose Bowl. And this game was every bit as good. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2017) ATH Lynn Bowden to Kentucky
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Hopefully we can get him for an OV. With Redding leaving, Bowden could get serious carries his true freshman year. We have three backs in the league (Coleman, Howard, Houston), with two of them sure fire Pro Bowlers. Have to think we have a chance here with DMC on the trail. -

(2017) QB Nick Tronti to IU
akhosrof replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Fair points. I don't know much about evaluating QBs. To my naked eye this kid looks to have a quick release, good pocket awareness, squares up on his throws and throws well on the run. Obviously a better athlete which works well in DeBord's offense. Two completely different QBs IMO. Lagow's arm is much stronger. In all fairness to this kid, he's only 18 while Lagow is in his early 20s. Unless we can pull Lytle or Burmeister, any 2017 QB isn't likely to see the field for a few years. All I'm saying is he looks to be a good project, more than worthy of using a scholarship on when we have no other 2017 QB. We HAVE to take a QB this year with a new offense that requires a dual threat QB. I am very excited about seeing what Ramsey does this spring. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Redding and Oliver declaring for the NFL draft
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
We also have Mike McGinnis (JUCO), Thomas Allen and De'Mo Burnam coming in at LB. We are also a Top 4 finalist for Jaquan Henderson. Not to mention we have CTA and Coach Inge who are excellent at developing LBs. I really hope Scales comes back, but his stock may never be higher. LB is a physically demanding position. Redding and Oliver declaring for the NFL draft
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I wonder if Feeney leaving and a new OC were factors? Those are two big variables. I wonder if Redding leaving opens the depth chart for Lynn Bowden? Our track record with RBs getting into the league is impressive and someone as talented as Bowden could get huge PT as a true freshman. I like Gest's talent a lot, and Brookings had a solid bowl game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/make-college-football-great-again/ Cool B1G scheduling idea if the CFP should ever expand to 6-8. I think the rivalries in this particular example could be adjusted, but certainly an exciting idea. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2017) QB Nick Tronti to IU
akhosrof replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Looks to have a quick, compact release that generates a lot of velocity and that he can get off from any angle. Nice mobility. Plays in a spread offense that gets rid of the ball quickly. Threw five TDs in a close loss in his state championship game against an undefeated private school that has quite a few D1 prospects. He plays at a public school. Apparently broke his collar bone in the playoffs last year which affected his ability to be seen as a recruit. Could be a really nice find for us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

(2017) TE Kurt Rafdal to Nebraska
akhosrof replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Hard to blame the kid. His best relationships were likely with Johns and Patton. I'm sure we'll see more of our offensive recruits leave, but I'm sure we'll gain some new ones too. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
