  1. I think Frank Martin (SC) has been discussed before, but how about Dana Altman (Oregon) or Billy Kennedy (TAMU)? I would rather first look at a guy from a P5 program that has had success before moving onto mid-major coaching prospects. Of course, Bennett would top that list but I think he turns down IU IMO. 2. What does everyone think of Mike Cronin? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. I like this move a lot! Played and coached under DeBord. Coached under Taggart also. He was a smaller, scrappy QB himself. I'm sure he'll be a big asset to Ramsey and Tronti. He'll recruit his butt off. Comes from a coaching family with strong Michigan roots. Hopefully he can help us out recruiting Michigan. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. I'm really disappointed about Roundtree. Him and Reece would have been an incredible tandem. I know Allen and Reece tried really hard to bring Roundtree aboard. We did everything we could. Sounds like Lovie Smith made Roundtree a top priority. That's a tough battle when the opposing coach was the head football coach of the recruit's hometown pro team only a couple years ago, and is well respected in that city. 7. Bobby Roundtree is deciding between us and Illinois. Would be a big get for us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. Completely agree, Barrett wants to come here we find room. He's a talent who could provide an instant impact. Ellison really wants to come here and he's a very underrated talent. I'd wager we'd take both. They are different RBs: Barrett is Coleman-like whereas Ellison is Howard-like. Layne announces Monday. If he chooses IU, I think that shows we prioritized him over Richardson and let Richardson go elsewhere. I would say Ellison, Layne or Richardson, and Roundtree at the minimum. Maximum? I think we'd take both Barrett and Ellison, Layne or Richardson, Roundtree and Fatukasi. We've recruited all five of these guys hard. We would make room. 9. We have CB majorities for both Richardson and Layne. Based on our scholarship numbers we likely only take one of them. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. I'm really looking forward to this spring. Installing a new offense in the spring will be a tall order. I feel the QB that adjusts the quickest will be the starter. DeBord and Watson have been around the block, so I have no doubt the install will be as seamless as possible. I like Ramsey's skill-set as a fit for DeBord's offense. Watson has known Ramsey since he was a kid. I think Lagow has a leg up as a starter, but it wouldn't surprise me if Ramsey leapfrogs King and we have a two horse race this summer. Ramsey will be the most anticipated player this spring IMO. I can't wait! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. Haha I'm not touching or making that argument. There are 9,999 other topics on that. My argument was pertaining to Glass only. I simply threw in a personal opinion on Crean that I'm not married to. It's irrelevant regardless. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. Gotta love IU fans, already recruiting Frye by digging up a nearly two year-old tweet: https://mobile.twitter.com/CoachJFrye/status/611947745356726272?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. ESPN released an updated scouting report for Tronti. 3* 76 grade, 32nd QB in the 2017 class. Compared to a less physical, but more athletic version of Sean White (Auburn). http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/208944/nick-tronti Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Got hurt his junior year in the playoffs. His HS isn't exactly a football powerhouse either. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. I think two of our four offensive line commits are early enrollees and already on campus. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. Per Michigan Insider Sam Webb, Frey to Michigan is official. Frey will coach tackles and tight-ends, Jay Harbaugh will coach RBs. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. Hence why I mentioned revenues. Donations are at all time highs under Glass. The basketball team is still selling out. You and I may not be happy, but obviously those who are influential are still spending/giving. Until that changes, I am not sure how much more potential there is with the basketball team and revenues? Crean has ever resource available to him and already has among the best facilities. The major untapped revenue potential is football. Selling out Memorial Stadium every week would be huge. If two other "basketball schools", Louisville and UK can get 50K and 60K a game, respectively, our goal should be 50K if the team is good. Louisville is expanding their stadium too. Glass has done an excellent job of investing in the football team. We have had Hoosier alum in the NFL come back and say I never realized how good our facilities were until I was in the NFL. We have DeBord and Watson, who coached at Tennessee and Texas respectively, who raved about our facilities. It will only get better with the south end zone enclosure. So yes, I tend to agree with Glass. I believe we are entering a golden age of IU athletics. Football and all non-revenue sports have improved. As much as we are frustrated by Crean, we will always be one coaching change away from a national championship. I am still in the crowd that believes we can win one with Crean, but at the very least you can't argue that he hasn't built a great foundation that is close to being a championship contender. 19. I think that is a perfectly fair reaction to have, especially as an IU fan. However, from a university president's perspective, Glass has been very successful. The president's perspective is the only one that matters as long as the AD is keeping revenues high. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. Glass will get a test very soon on financial commitment to IU athletics. Time to pony up to keep Grey Frey! Most of the talk in this topic is basketball-centric, which is understandable. But how about the positive effect the commitment to facilities has had on all other sports? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. That's incredible. I really hope we can keep Frey Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Has a similar running style to Tevin. I think it's huge he didn't commit to TN this weekend. We get last shot at him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. Ellison is a big back, I don't think Nelson would deter Ellison. Ellison seems pretty enthusiastic about IU on his Twitter. Does Nelson have kick/punt return ability? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. Got a late offer from ND. Visited them too I believe this month. UK is making a late play as well. We have a few CB recruits we are going after. I'm sure we'll get one of them. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
