I emailed a very civil message to the trustees mailbox. I didn't rant or threaten. I just pointed out what the consequences of keeping Crean would do to the IU basketball program.

I dislike Fred more and more all the time. He hasn't really done much for IU. I know about the building projects, but that was all due to the Board of Trustees.

Did Glass do this so Indiana would be more likely loose and make it easier for him to force Crean to leave?

I am feeling pretty confident that Fred Glass will do the right thing. I know he personally likes Crean , but he has to consider his own position and what is good for Indiana first. He knows the situation at IU is now toxic. Crean has almost no support left. Its hard to find any more excuses for him. So lets hope Glass' own self preservation instincts have kicked in. I can believe the IU Board of Trustees would be pushed too far if he doesn't let Crean go.

I suspect this will be Crean's last game as head coach. He could conceivably win this one , but its highly unlikely he would win two. I don't think he ever has in the B10 tourney.

This has been another Crean season. Its been pretty depressing since the Ft Wayne game. I knew then that things were going to go terribly wrong. I would love to be able to see into the future and know Crean's status. I do have to believe that Glass is feeling extreme heat from the alumni, fans, general public, and most importantly the trustees. I am optimistic that he is finally ready to make a change. I believe he is trying to remain positive in his public comments to help recruiting , but planning in private for Crean's invevitable departure. Fingers crossed !

I have been wondering if Crean is aware that he most likely won't be back and if that has affected his coaching (or lack of) at all.

Every year I start out trying to be supportive of Crean. Every year he disappoints. He will never be a top ten coach, he is unlikely to ever reach the final four. What you see is as good as it gets. Today you see very poor shot selection. What ever happened to driving the basket and kicking it out to the shooter on the 3 point line ? I guess that would require a little coaching , which is missing as we all know. Crean is the Mark Richt of basketball. He wins just enough to keep his job. Even his recruiting is in a steady decline.

Wilson makes really dumb play calls on a regular basis.

Wilson true to form is guilty of awful offensive play calling in crucial situations.

The vaunted IU O Line has been non existent. Redding can't run without them doing their job.

I am very disappointed. There were a lot of negatives. Wilson got way too conservative on offense after going up 30-0. Gideon showed no urgency in getting punts off. Lagow has a long way to go. He is not a B10 QB at this point. Offensive play calling is pretty bad at times. I wasn't concerned about Wake before but I am now. I am down right afraid of what happens when MSU comes to town.

I watched the GSU/BSU game on and off last weekend. BSU did not look good in the first quarter at all. They definitely dominated in the second half. GSU is coached by Trent Miles formerly of Indiana State U I believe. GSU is not a very good team. They have only been in the BCS for a couple of years and are still growing. An interesting aside is that the Atlanta braves are moving to their new Sun Trust Stadium in Cobb County for 2017 . Turner field will be repurposed and become GSU footballs' home field in a $250 million redevelopment of the 82 acres around Turner Field that will include the GSU village. It should seat about 35000.

I think in the future we will see a lot of these types of players enter the draft. The lure of big money is going to be a strong incentive. They see themselves driving around in an expensive new car and living a jet set lifestyle and its irresistible.

Mark Emmert is as sleazy as they come. According to the NCAA , UNC is too big to fail. They will look the other way and its business as usual.

I have been wondering what the rules are for permissible benefits for athletes. If a couple of players are out on the town and some alum offers to buy them dinner is that a violation? I have reading online what the rules are and its hard to really tell. What if some one offers an athlete a ride to the airport? These all seem like gray areas.

I wish he would stay, but I think he is gone. All that money out there has undoubtedly has been on his mind . I think the team will miss his ability to drive to the basket and score and draw fouls. When no one else took the initiative to make something happen he did. He was fearless.
