  1. Please don't say lose to Youngstown again, I'm taking my 5yo son to his first game that night!!!!
  2. I absolutely know this team is worse, you can't lose the best 3 players (on a bad team), bring in the recruits that we did, change coaches, and expect the team to be instantly better. But improvement is always still a possibility. You can still see glimpses of improvements, in certain games, of taking care of the ball, defense, post play...., but they are still learning. I just really thought that last years loss to IUFW would have lingered in the back of the upperclassmen's minds, at least they mentioned it beforehand, publicly, but it didn't show in the way they played. Rojo showed again last night that he can't get out of his own way, 6 tos from a senior guard that has started all those games is beyond ridiculous.
  3. Now that I reread my post, I should have said that CAM does share some of the responsibility for last night, but the players get a lot of it. I was ready for the bench to play just a few minutes into the 2nd half, like many others. I would have been happy with JMO and McRoberts with Smith, Moore, Al, Lasko, Jager, and Colin for the rest of the game. I know that Rojo has made vast improvements on D, but what good does that do if you are going to have 6 TOs and disappear for 2/3s of the game offensively? It seems like Rojo does just enough in the nick of time to keep him from the bench. That is not what we needed him to do this year. I'm beginning to think that the proverbial "come to Jesus" moment for the upperclassmen has past its potential to help them and I don't even know if the bench will help them.
  4. It definitely seems that ISU and IPFW played the same script in their games at SSAH. It seems that all it takes to get into the heads of some of the more seasoned players on IU, is to play fast and jack some 3s! It seemed that the team reverted back to the old system, which is a huge problem, but not just the style of play, the over thinking/analyzing things or not thinking at all. We don't have anyone on this team that is capable to playing that fast and hit 3s without committing a TO. You could visibly see the frustration on CAMs face, but almost a blank slate on the players. They clammed up, went deaf, and put blinders on! Not one semblance of CAMs system showed last night. This game reminds me of trying to reign in a rebellious teen! You get their attention for a little bit, then they are busted for something stupid. In the post game, CAM stated that he didn't have them ready to play, but I really don't think that it falls on him for this one. They may have heard and known the message, but it didn't stick! At this point, I honestly believe that the teams worst enemy is their own minds! I've seen a few comments that blame CAM for not making changes during the game, I don't think it is that simple. If the players are struggling to learn just 1 defensive set (which seems to be a completely new concept to some on this team), what makes anyone think that switching to another defense during a game will be any better? These guys struggle to move the ball on offense, close out on defense, get out of their own heads, not turn the ball over, feed the post, find the open guy, communicate, move laterally, stay with their guy; they are obviously not capable of making a switch from pack-line to a zone or something else during a game.
  5. Well I guess all it takes to rattle this team is a less opponent that plays aggressive! Rojo comes out shooting well then disappears again! Stupid stupid stupid stupid.... stupid turnovers!!!! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  12. Just watched the replay on Youtube during my slow day at work, and I can say I really dislike Notre Dame even more. Farrel and Colson cry and fake their way through ball games, I can't stand that crap!! Yes the game had some terrible calls, but there were numerous no calls and wtf calls on favoring both of them. But I enjoyed get a chance to watch it without the screams and cheering at my family get together. Really love the fight in these guys here lately and really think that the buy in is almost complete, this game may have tipped them over the edge. The Christmas season just keeps on giving to the Hoosier Nation, defense, lower turnover rates, hustle, somewhat better decision making, proper timeouts, successful inbound play, Rojo seeming to get out of his head.... Let' see what Santa has left for us!!!!!

  20. See my post on the previous page. I really think it is more of drumming up stuff for attention with opinion pieces.
  21. I don't really think that he heard anything new. If you read his previous article that had snippets from Romeo's interview, Romeo said that he wasn't feeling pressure to stay in Indiana. That could mean a variety of things, including maybe Archie is truly letting Romeo make a decision on his own and not pressuring him to stay. To me, if Archie's recruiting pitch was based on you got to stay in-state, that would be a put-off. If I was a Top-10 recruit, I would be wanting to hear more of, how are you going to utilize me, getting to the tournament, show casing my talent for the next level, and so on. There wasn't really anything else that came from the interview besides the fact that Romeo and Grimes are friends and obviously Garland as well. There really wasn't anything in the interview that clearly establishes Vandy and Kansas distancing themselves. Romeo even applauded CAM on his game plan against Duke as something that really stuck out to him being a great coach. To me this is just another hit piece to get attention in a recruiting battle that has already set a period in which a decision will be made. Again will we get him, IDK, but I wouldn't hang my hat on anything until Romeo makes a decision. Just my two cents!
  22. That stat line for Rojo just blows me away! 35 min, 0-6, 2 reb, 1 steal, 0 assists, and 3 fouls. What on earth was going on for him to get that many damn mins! I don't even recall one play that Rojo drove to the basket, not even when all the trees were on the bench. For someone who is really interested in going on to the next level, he really isn't providing much proof to the scouts that he can play good enough for the g-league or overseas! I think it's time for some substantial pine time for a few seniors. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. Seniors to the bench for the remainder of the year, don't even let them out of warm ups Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
