We already landed 5* McDAA Indiana Mr. Basketball Trayce Jackson-Davis. That’s a big fish. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I’m onboard. Why the hell would you try to lower the value of one of your biggest assets? Unreal. You can have success AND check and balances in place. It’s not NIT or Mad Man Knight. There’s a nice in between. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
2019 NIT Tournament

Zion is an international sensation. Do you not see that? Of course Duke will always have the loyal fan base just as Indiana and others do. They aren’t adding “fans”. They’re adding customers for the season. What OAD players bring is the most exciting young basketball players to the NCAA instead of the NBA. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Nike executives made a special shoe for a college player, and hand delivered it to the college. You think that kind of exposure and attention doesn’t benefit the NCAA? They do. If the Zion’s went straight to the league, do the colleges get the same endorsement deals? They wouldn’t; still would be large, but not as large. One and done placed the best young basketball players in the hands of a NON-PROFIT organization. So, Joe, when you say $20 million isn’t too much, I don’t have an answer for you. But this “non-profit” is doing damn well for itself, and it’s because of the players. The agreement includes the right for players to “sit out” just as it includes the right for schools to discourage and block transfers to other institutions, bench players, suspend them, and remove them from the team. It’s all a business, and choosing to sit out is well within the terms of agreement of this business. PS: the NIT is a silly risk for any NBA bound player. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

That’s just plain ignorant and wrong. There are people watching NCAA because of players like Zion, not because they’re Duke fans. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Does it? At a school like Indiana pulling in tens of millions of the basketball program? From a dollars perspective, who knows, but the schools are clearly more than happy, and regardless, like I said, it’s a transaction. However, the transaction wasn’t fruitful enough, with NCAA missing generational stars like LeBron. Next thing you know, OAD rule. So, they created a situation where some players are essentially on loan. They can choose whether or not to play, and clearly most choose to play. In the NIT, which you and others have already stated is a BS tournament with no value, why would anyone with NBA hopes play? No one is watching anyway (hence $20 tickets). It’s not free. It’s payment for a service. It’s all highly transactional. Zero issue with someone choosing to sit out of a tournament that has very little value for those not returning to the team the following year. Zion playing for the real championship makes sense to me. It’d be strange if someone sat out the actual Tournament. Sitting out the NIT makes perfect sense to me. Don’t hate the player for doing what is best for their long term success, hate the game that made these things the way they are. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
If De’Ron is back and healthy, having him and Phinisee plus TJD and Race answers the concerns I had at the beginning of this past season. Maybe even just TJD and Race fix those. For such an basketball crazed fan base, I feel that many still overlooked the importance of a consistent and reliable PG. We clearly saw that effect this season during the times Phinisee was out or recovering from the concussion. With the currently assumed roster, I think we have a better constructed roster than this past year. Now it’s about development and adding a shooter grad transfer. We can’t replace Romeo and Juwan, but we can make improvements across the roster to mitigate losses of individual contributors. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I was wrong about OSU but I’m not wrong about this. Keion to Indiana. Archie has too much recruiting momentum in-state, TJD and Franklin aren’t wasting their time unless they already know, and Keion sees he’ll get to be the main scorer playing a role that may be a better fit for our offense than Romeo’s style at Indiana next year. You just had to eat crow the last time you “got real” and said we wouldn’t win another game, hence your new signature. In absolutely no way shape or form is recruiting momentum loss when we have signed the likely Mr. Basketball for the second year in a row after recruiting a top 5 national recruit in the prior class.
