Victor Oladipo - Memphis Grizzlies
Walking Boot of Doom replied to ccgeneral's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Dipo will be fine. He's helping the team win with assists, rebounds, and defense. Time to go spend some time with the Shot Doc Buckley apparently. -

You know we're a football school when we're having bitch fights in the football threads. Heartwarming, really. -
Holy cow dung, Batman. Going to go ahead and share this fun little article again... https://btownbanners.com/topic/8693-its-not-easy-being-tom-crean/ I am absolutely done with Crean as the coach of Indiana, but we have got to be one of the most sensitive fan bases out there. Heaven forbid Tom Crean calm down on the sidelines and let his S&C coach provide some of the energy to the players. I mean, has anyone noticed his toned down sideline demeanor? Do you maybe wonder if he's allowing his assistants to bring some of that energy instead? That maybe CTC has recognized that the fan base does not appreciate his sideline antics? He's not a great coach, but the guy has been doing this for over 20 years. It is plausible, and even likely, that he might know what he's doing on occasion.

Didn't CTC cut out cursing? I'd hope he's not dropping bombs on the sideline. Don't care how many bombs either of them drop behind closed doors.
-
Interested in a job with NFL front office? [emoji16] I'm with Hova on this one, but agree the F-bombs should not be coming out of his mouth while on the sideline.

Can we talk about the current basketball environment or do we need to go back to when Knight coached for your arguments to hold? -

You have stats to backup that 80% contribution? Also, a 200 miles radius will take outside of Indiana into multiple other states. You try to support your idea by degrading others opinions. You can't argue the reality of the situation here at IU. Our biggest issues have all been driven by the "top" local kids. I'm not saying we shouldn't build up our local recruiting; it's cheap and easy, and maybe some of them are Indiana fans. But you have very little to stand on to support the success of recruiting local recruiting at IU of late. I'm not sure what local kids you want? A team of Hartman's? Great kid, great attitude, but he's not beating the Duke's and the Kentucky's. -

I agree. We cannot win without Troy. I definitely believe we can win without JBJ. Sure, he's an incredible scorer, but RoJo is pretty damn solid and has a much better all around game. In order to win, we'd need less points with JBJ not out there on defense. -
Turned on the game late yesterday to watch the final 10 minutes of the half. After 5 minutes I turned it off and went to a museum instead. I'll watch more once B1G play starts, but even the wins just aren't satisfying. I'm sick of watching Crean coach and the product he has developed. Regardless of where the blame falls, coach vs. players, I'm sick of the inconsistency and rollercoaster style of play. Pretty bummed that I feel this way, but IU basketball puts me in a bad mood win or lose this season.

His work on the boards has been consistently strong. -

He's been playing plenty off the bench, but Skiles is trying to keep him and Payton in separate lineups since they're both ball handlers. He has Fournier starting at SG instead. -
Ditto... Not happy when I heard that.

I get the same weird vibes from Marshall that everyone gets from Crean.

What about Mark Few? Wasn't he runner-up after Sampson was fired?

Keep going guys! You've surely almost convinced Ainge to give up on Brad Stevens! It's not like the Celtics are a blue blood of the NBA with a history of building contenders. No way they'll ever get there with Stevens and Ainge. But if Stevens were to come here, he and Glass would definitely turn this college blue blood with a history of building contenders into the power house it has been in the past. While we're on the conversation of superstars winning in the NBA, has anyone noticed what has been happening to college basketball? There's a reason Duke and Kentucky are winning so much.
-
Glass better be at the point where it's Elite 8 or bust. Regular season wins really shouldn't be a part of his formula at this point. Win when it matters, or move along.
