I go to bed and wake up to Brad Stevens and Billy Donovan rumors being tossed around....did I time warp back to searches past or are we just playing the greatest hits again?!?!?! Listened to the Torres podcast...says he thinks a lot of big names will want this job due to our NIL resources alone and its a more attractive job than people like to act like it is. Tosses out Stevens (says you have to make the call), Donovan (thinks he will be fired. Says if UK would of waited they could of had him), Beard (wants the job / Bob Knight stuff is no coincidence), May.

Trying to bring everyone's opinion together...if it won't be stevens, drew, pearl, beard, may, otz or wade... Who the heck does that leave? - McCassland - Cronin - Gates - Jans - Smart - Golden - B. Looking at Otz record...what made Iowa State want him after going 17-15 Y1 and then 12-15 Y2 at UNLV. I am not familiar with his background, but he jumped from South Dakota State where he won a lot in 3 years, to 2 very mediocre/bad years at UNLV, to Iowa State.

@AH1971 You have maybe posted this, but I likely missed it in the billions pages. If you don't think Stevens, May, Pearl are realistic, what is your list of candidates you would like to see / that you think would have interest?

I just want a competent coach, with energy, a vision and a history of building winning cultures at any level, who can Make March Fun Again... No one is a guarantee, and not sure who the right fit is...but regardless of name or where they come from, I think the fans will bye in and give grace & time if a coach can articulate and relentlessly attack his vision to deliver on the above...

Whoever we hire, has to have a clear vision for the program, and have the stones to drive the message into everyone’s head every single day until everyone buys in… People were sick of cig, every press conference he gave the same answers “one day at a time, no self imposed limitations, fast physical relentless, production over potential”….he didn’t waver, and that’s how you set culture as a leader. Now who can do that…really not sure.

One thing I keep coming back to after a buddy mentioned it…I’ve been to a game at Mackey, and again you could hear it / see it over the TV last night. That place was rocking, no dead time, upbeat music playing constantly during timeouts, kept the energy and the crowd in it. How could any of our administrators attend that game and not see that we have to make changes to our game experience for fans. It’s so stale…the wat shot, mellencamp, same band songs, dead/quiet time. No energy, nothing to keep the pulse. We have so much work to do in that department IMO.

Guys played hard…I really enjoyed that game. It always stings when it’s Purdue. Execution down the stretch hurt…Galloway lob, Leal pick pocket, Leal offensive foul…all really hurt. Mind boggling to me that we didn’t call a time out with 10ish seconds to get a set called for a good look. Let Rice dribble down, and although fouled, gotta think we can get decent play drawn up out of a TO. Then to not advance the ball down court with 3.3 to go and then call a TO is crazy….even wilder, the set we then drew up was a Hail Mary. 3.3 seconds is a lifetime with a quick point guard. To not even get a prayer look hurts.

I can tell you one thing....I Will Wade into some cold beverages tonight while watching my beloved Hoosiers. Do we win? Crazier things have happened....

A lot of kids on that team came from rough areas, and had rough upbringings...being a student athlete wasn't something they cared much about. All they wanted to do was hoop...and party. Kids were talented, but not the culture or atmosphere I wan't any future coach to build at Indiana. Even if it comes with winning... But a minor detail to above - he wasn't shot in the head. He was shot in the upper back / shoulder. Per police, it was a case of mistaken identify, as the car he was in was shot at when they pulled up to a teenage girls birthday party at a hotel.

I have seen his name a couple times, and commented a billion pages back on this. But Chris Mack would worry me...He flamed out very quickly at Louisville, and I wouldn't want him in the top 5 names that we would run down. I could be wrong, and only time would tell, but I think that would be a disaster hire.

If we are looking at coaches who have broken the rules and were sanctioned, can we just bring back Sampson? (to save people from jumping on this...I know that won't happen)
