With all the focus on the current losing streak, I deciding to do a little digging. I went back to Knight's first season, and noted any losing streaks greater than 4 games, to see how often it had occurred from the 71-72 season through the 17-18 season. In total, it has occurred 15 times (Two seasons with multiple 4+ game streaks in the same season), with the largest losing streaks occurring under Crean, at 11 games. As we are all painfully aware, we had losing streaks of both 10 & 11 games in his first year, 11 games in year number two and 6 & 9 games in year three. Mike Davis saw four total seasons with a losing streak of 4 games or more, with the highest being his 04-05 Season at 6 games. Knight had a total of 4 seasons with losing streaks of 4 or greater games, with the largest occurring in the 71-72 season (5 games). Anyways, thought it was interesting, and I had some downtime during lunch.

With all the bad news, thought i'd bring something positive. Just saw where Archie announced Race has been cleared for full contact. Not quite ready to play, but could be seeing game action very soon.

After 24 hours away, I’ve stepped off of the ledge that Saturday almost pushed me over. I still believe that this team is capable of being competitive, winning and possibly making a nice little run. Have we looked great the past few games...no. But I still have a hard time believing that this roster and coaching staff cannot pull together enough wins to make the tournament around an 8 seed. I have concerns like a lot on this board, but I am willing to give Archie more than 2 years to get this figured out and hopefully be our guy long term.

Alright, getting off here...we are headed for an epic meltdown. Injuries aside, we still just aren’t very good. I’m not sure how much Jerome or Race would even move the needle. Bottom line, we have a roster full of top 100 kids, multiple 4 stars, potential Freshman of the Year and 2 all big ten players, and we still suck.

And shocker...free throws continue to be a problem.

Can we please recruit a true bruising center...seems every team in the country has one, but us.

Guys, love the kid, love his heart...but Mcbob cannot be in the game if he’s going to refuse to shoot. His defense does not outweigh his negative impact on offense.

In other news, a legendary coach has a Syracuse team in position to beat Duke at home. They are pegged to miss the tourney.

I’ll continue to watch, but don’t expect much over the next 7 games. Just being honest, but see us winning maybe 2 of those with the way we are progressing. At Purdue, At Northwestern, home against Michigan, At Rutgers, At MSU, home against Iowa, Home against Ohio State.

Guys....we don’t have or run an offense. We are so limited on that end of the court. Additionally, we have several players that are just absolute liabilities on defense. trying to fight off the apathy slowly setting in.

Random, but a buddy of mine mentioned that Darius Garland was at the game, and was even shown on the jumbotron. Seems odd he would be at an IU game, especially after the hard fought recruitment. Possibly there to watch Romeo and others?

You are correct...losing my mind ha-ha. And as someone will point out I am sure, it is actually even spelled Sidney.

Honestly, at this point I get the feeling we won't see Rob until after the Michigan game, and may not see Race the rest of the year. Amazing because it seemed that Rob had a very minor collision, did not anticipate him missing this much time. Keep in mind, Sidney Crosby missed an entire year in the NHL with a concussion. Race's situation must have been bad.

Huge get for Allen and the Hoosiers. Had big offers coming out of Hs.

That is absolutely terrifying. I know times were different, but man...Obviously you were just working on your knuckle ball and taking the long way home.

Just saw where Kansas hired Les Miles. Wonder if he will have success there without being able to recruit like he did at LSU. Still nice to see a program make the big move to try to improve their program...

Hmm...playing cornerback in the CFL. Was it ever discussed for him to play defense here? (honestly..so long ago I had forgotten about him entirely).

Mods, feel free to move/merge if needed, but seeing as everyone and their grandmother is injured, thought it might be helpful to start a thread specifically for injury updates. With that being said, has anyone heard if Devonte or Mcbob will be ready to go Tuesday? Any update on De'Ron, Race or Jerome?

Duke - 88 IU - 71

With guys gassed, I’m baffled that Cliff or Jake didn’t see the floor tonight, even for short bursts. Not very encouraging for a guy in his second season. Still hopeful he can develop over the next 2+ seasons to see time his junior or senior year.

After 3 decades of watching IU football and not missing a game, I can honestly say I don’t really care if I see another one this season. I just find it hard to believe that an AD of a power 5 conference can watch IU football and not be absolutely embarrassed. I mean embarrassed enough to make drastic changes and commitments to a program. He’s an alumni for Goodness sakes. Why do we HAVE to settle for mediocrity? Why does that have to be our story? Blows my mind that this administration is just okay with the product. Year after year we settle for a rinse and repeat strategy, and expect a different outcome...or maybe that’s just it, the only ones expecting a different outcome are the fans. Clean house, and find leadership that wants to bring true change, because an AD and President only committed enough to hire a DC who’s not getting a whiff of any HC jobs to lead the program into the future isn’t working. Who would have guessed?

We all know Indiana football is the definition of insanity....yet every spring we convince ourselves this season will be different haha. I REALLY like Allen as a man, but realistically with these results how many seasons does he get? At what point do we admit hes in over his head? oh wait...that insanity thing.
