  1. Have thought about this quite a bit...I think he could probably go, but hope he stays 2 years. If he does go, losing a guy like Garcia becomes a whole lot more painful.
  2. They must have been coaching during our game and missed it.... I KID, I KID!
  3. I would hate to see him go, but I don't disagree with this statement. I think there are two extremes; those who never wanted him and those who will defend him until the end. Not making the tournament this year would stir up those in the middle, as a tournament birth in year 3 with a reasonably talented and deep roster is expected. As some have pointed out, if we want to recruit at a high level we have to prove we can win consistently, and making the tournament goes a long way in accomplishing that.
  4. My wife tells me I need to get another hobby..I’ll keep coming back though. A lot of season left, and still a lot to be excited about this year and next...but I’d be lying if I said I wasn't slightly concerned. What pains me is to talk to fellow fans who respond, “I’ve accepted that we just won’t ever be elite again”. Unfortunately, that’s becoming more and more common. One loss doesn’t define a season, hopefully they learn from it, move on and respond in MSG. A lot of programs get their teeth kicked in from time to time, but good programs always pick themselves up and respond. On to the next one.
  5. Feel like $800k is pretty decent for an OC at Indiana. I may be wrong, was trying to look at assistance coaching data. For reference, Kevin Wilson is making $800k at OSU I believe.
  6. It's amazing what college coaches are getting paid these days. Even crazier to think that almost $4mil a year will only make him the 12th highest paid coach in the Big Ten. Brohm getting $6.6 still blows my mind... Congrats to Tom Allen! Now let's give our best pitch to Deboer, and make the right hire if he leaves. Any chance they give Hart a shot?
  7. Virginia has looked horrible so far. Purdue defense and length causing some issues, and they keep jacking threes. This is my first real watch of Virginia this year, and they do not pass the eye test of a top 25 team IMO. For someone who has watched them more, are they truly this limited on offense?
  8. Now his entry passes into the post are another thing...he will learn, but some of them have had zero chance of being caught.
  9. I would hope the water finds its level, he’s a better shooter than that. Shot 37% in high school for his career per max preps. Now if that continues...I agree haha.
  10. Would they have an argument for the #1 spot? Would have wins against Creighton, Iowa State, #6 UNC and #8 Gonzaga. What other team would have a better resume so far? Unranked to #1, Not sure that has ever happened, but from a pure resume perspective and eye test, they have a case IMO.
  11. I'd have to go find it, but I thought someone in the Kaufman thread posted that things around Sellersburg were positive for IU. Not doubting you, just thought I saw some conflicting info in another thread. EDIT: Found the post. Was more of a feeling that the poster had. He stated he felt like he was more of an Indiana kid based on living in that neck of the woods and knowing people from the area. Nothing concrete.
  12. Robert Rothbart...thats a name I had to go back and look up. Great pull out of the vault there sir.
  13. That's why I asked about the Garland recruitment, wasn't aware of what occurred there. Can someone elaborate on why they have a distrust for him?
  14. Welp, guess I'll drink beer at work then...
  15. Honestly didn't follow his recruitment that close. Did he declare Garland to Indiana?
  16. Don't doubt this. BUT, I'll take anything I can get. I'd rather be disappointed at home this evening drinking beer vs. disappointed at work...need to cling on to hope for 7 more hours haha.
  17. Rabjohns is close with the family, and he posted that as of late last night the family was still working to make a decision. I think that all signs point to Marquette, but I am holding out hope that the fact he hasn't already tipped his hat to them is because he really wants to go to IU. If not, I am still very excited about our roster next year. Holding a scholarship for a loaded 2021 class also isn't the worst thing in the world (I believe there are 6 Indiana kids in the top 100), especially if there is a very solid grad transfer available.
  18. Saw where Rabby noted that he spoke to Meyer, and he told him he doesnt know, just his best guess. Direct quote: "Jerry Meyer told me he doesn't know, that he's making an informed prediction, which is what Crystal Balls are for" Wouldn't take this to the bank. Rabby also mentioned that Garcia's announcement comments were taken the wrong way, and Garcia had told people last night he still didn't know.
  19. Ended up with 2 rebounds, 0 points, 0 assists, 1 turnover in 15 minutes. The kid is talented, and there is a lot of basketball to be played, but he just didn't look to fit in anywhere when on the court last night. For a versatile scorer, he was mainly relegated to standing, setting screens and not really involved as an option in the offense. Wish the kid luck, and still wish we could have seen him in candy stripes.
  20. Was just looking over at another site. Andy Bottoms doesn't project IU making the 68 team field in March. Haven't looked a ton, but a buddy mentioned that this follows the trend of most way too early projections. I am optimistic and bullish on this team when healthy, but then again...I think I say that every year. Hoping Archie get's these kids playing hard, and we surprise a lot of people. Excited to kick off the season, and will be there in person as always rooting for my Hoosiers. LETS GO!
  21. Appreciate it, thank you!
  22. Maybe they are on to us....when I try to scroll to the 93 minute mark, it jumps from 59 minutes to 100...wont allow me to jump to anywhere in between there.
  23. FK, Honest question, and have never really seen a serious discussion around actual potential candidates. Who would you like IU to target if we do part ways with CTA? I know that a lot of that depends on the landscape, who may be let go, available etc., but just curious who people think IU could get that would actually drive change. Is there a big name coach down on their luck at a smaller school that we could target, a promising up and comer, proven assistant etc. I was intrigued by Kansas being able to pick up Les Miles, but the verdict is still out of he will succeed there.
  24. God I love this thread... but for those interested, IU up to 29 in the sp+ ranking. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/27727611/sp+-rankings-week-5-ou-ohio-state-keep-climbing
