MSU - 35 IU - 17
-
No, they never did at the request of the Blackmon family.
-
Yeah, he admitted to it. Should be off the team without a doubt.

No timetable for return, correct? Best case scenario: is that it's a sprain, meniscus, or MCL/LCL. Worst case scenario: ACL. Collin is a smart player who can stretch the defense at the 4 spot and does a lot of dirt work. Wish him a speedy recovery.

Is it confirmed for sure or just something Dakich said was in the works? Dakich also claimed he was starting a 50 pound weight-loss challenge and quit after two weeks..

This whole "Meet the Hoosiers" campaign and the like/dislike videos during games etc, was started to try and help fans bridge the disconnect between the fans and the players after all of the off-court incidents the last few years. I think they're fun for the most part and can help show some of the personality you don't always get exposed to on the court.

#IUFB Indiana vs Ball State Pre Game Thread
KB0 replied to jdailey1981's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Feel pretty confident heading into Saturday. Wish I was able to make the trip down, but have a lot of conflict with the schedule this season. Gonna tune in from the house. The o-line should dominate and the backs should be good to go again. Looking for Lagow to make smart decisions. Hopefully the defense has another good showing and can continue to build on an impressive start to the season. -
Dominique Booth's IU Career Is...Not? Done

It's my understanding that he'll be a student coach this year, he'll graduate, and play at a new school next year. -

I really like contrast in running styles that exists between Majette and Redding. I was a bit skeptical of Redding coming into the season, hopefully he can consistently churn out performances like last night and the end of last season. -

Defense had a few lapses, but really solid effort and close out. Can't complain when they put up 16 points. Lagow definitely missed on a few throws and sometimes didn't get through his progressions like he should have, but still a solid debut. Just take care of the ball and let the running game do the work. Oakes missed an easy FG, but that happened last year too. He'll be fine. Solid start to the season. Need to build on it next Saturday at the home opener. -
I'm torn on this as well.I like how it's unique to college basketball. Moving to quarters has it's benefits (less timeouts for one), but college basketball loses a bit more of it's niche in the process.

Prediction League: Game 1: Indiana at FIU

All IU picks so far. Hope this isn't a jinx. -
I'm wondering if this can be there year where Indiana Football finally finishes off a top-tier Big Ten team. Last year they were close with Ohio State, Michigan, and Iowa. If they are 3-0 heading into the Michigan State game that could be another awesome atmosphere a la Ohio State last season. Just need to find a way to win one of the close ones. I'm headed to the Big House this year to catch the IU/Michigan game so an IU win there would be a perfect ending.

In your opinion, what needs to happen for IUFB to reach another bowl game? For me, there's two main things. First, the QB play has to be average. That's it. It doesn't have to be fantastic or even good. Just average. With a strong offensive line, a 1000 yard rusher, and a quality crop of receivers the offense is loaded. If Lagow can take care of the ball and hit the open man, it will be enough to put points on the board. Second, the defensive line has to get pressure on the QB. For once the secondary looks like it may actually be a point of strength. Oliver and Scales are quality LBs and the new coordinator seems to be competent. If the line can consistently get pressure than this could be the best defensive team IU has fielded in some time. I get strangely optimistic when it comes to Indiana Football. I believe in this team. Making it to back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 90 and 91 would be a massive step forward. Thursday starts the journey and I couldn't be more excited.

Or you can eat breakfast and brunch. Best of both worlds.

Yes, you should be able to. Give the ticket office a call. I know if you attend one of the IU regional campuses you are able to get student basketball/football tickets still. Or you could at least a few years ago. I have to miss 3 of the homes games this year due to travel/weddings, but I bought some away tickets to watch at the Big House. Going to be a fun trip.

I never said that someone selected in the top 5 rounds of the MLB draft was a lock to make the MLB. I said they will "generally skip college and go to the MLB." Which is the truth. It just seems like a lot of nitpicking to me. Some deserved, some not deserved.

(2017) CB LaDamion Hunt to IU

I think you guys are piling it on X a little to thick again. He's pretty much right when he says that most kids are going to select to play in the NBA and make money when presented with the opportunity to go pro or stay in school. Sure you can find counter-examples, Dunn, Bryant, Marcus Smart, etc., but those kids tend to be the exceptions these days and not the rule. Using baseball as a comparison isn't really fair at all. There are 40 rounds in the MLB draft. Generally if a high school kid is selected in the first 5 rounds, he is a lock to skip college. Once you get in the later rounds, and your chances of actually making a MLB roster are slim, kids will generally elect to attend college. Most, I assume, are trying to improve their draft stock (who wouldn't want to?), some value an education as well. I not a huge fan of the "one and done" rule either, because I think there are some better models. Let the kids go straight out of high school. Let a kid be drafted by a team, but come back to school. They hold his rights for X amount of years. Things of that nature. Each model will have its drawbacks and critics. But, I also don't buy into the philosophy that college-aged kids value an education less than they used to. Sure, some kids may not take it serious when they are on campus for a year. Back in the day some kids who were on campus for multiple years still didn't take it serious. It's all up to the individual in every case.

Oh geez. Probably best to stay away from these sorts of topics on an Indiana Basketball message board. It's best for everyone.

People talk about Oladipo's mediocre shooting all the time. -
Someone would have to be kicked off of scholarship to bring him in. So, it could potentially cause an issue in that sense. Or someone feeling that their position is being threatened, but that's more of a cop-out.
