Indiana vs Louisville Game Thread

Flashback to 2013 against the Orange -
"Josh! Why?" Coach. We've been saying that all night.
-
Ahh Newkirk. Thank you for another reason to dislike you.
-
The only thing that kills me with Newkirk is his basketball IQ (or lack there of). Cujo and Devonte are freshmen, you gotta give them some cushion there, plus when you get so little amount of playing time you're going to try to do too much when you get the chance, so of course they might have more turnovers than others. At least with Green I see a great basketball IQ, along with a semi consistent jump shot.
-
Green for 3! I wonder if Coach saw that.
-
All I want is to see a lot more Green and Cujo and 100% less Newkirk.
-
I can't wait until Newkirk hits a jump shot of some kind someday[emoji4]

I agree completely. It just seems to me that Newkirk is making freshman mistakes just as often as they are. -

New drinking game. Drink every time "7 footer" is said when there are zero 7 footers on the floor. -

I've never seen such a low basketball IQ in a veteran PG like Newkirk. I'd prefer Devonte or Cujo any day of the week. -
#348 MVSU vs. #3 Indiana Game Thread

Does anyone see a single bit of pace on offense? Looks like nothing but mindless dribbling to me. -
Am I the only one who saw 0 pace out of anyone? Newkirk would jog the ball down the court and slow our game speed. We play our best at a fast pace. There was none of that tonight.

So the "transfer" rumors may have been false. But nobody guessed this haha.

(2016) PG Devonte Green to INDIANA
SWEETLEMONbrown replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
In my personal opinion, when he finally does get decent minutes, he'll be somewhat similar to Remy Abell his sophomore year. I feel like this kid may have reached his ceiling, so I do agree with the guys that say he might be a potential transfer. But I'd love love love to be wrong. -

Go get drafted man, you've got the talent. Watching him grow from season to season has been a complete pleasure. His freshman year just being the distributer to our future lottery picks. Sophomore year to showing the world how much he can score without those lottery picks. Junior year dealing with adversity and leading his team to get better. Then his senior year being just the Hoosier ball player we've been dying to have. He is IU basketball. He is a Hoosier. I wanted him to have a nat'l championship, but he left his mark at Indiana and will be remembered as a legend. What a career. Such heart and such love for his school. -
Post Game UNC. Fruck....

- You can't blame Crean all for this one. Normally after any Indiana loss I'm just done and ready to put the blame on someone. Could we have played better defense? Sure. But acknowledge the fact that they beat us. Of course it was an amazing performance that no one could've predicted, but it happens. They played just like any team hopes to play. They won. - Thomas and Troy.. I'd love for them to stay. But Thomas is the only one that I see staying. - Yogi.. Thank you for everything. What a Hoosier. Nick and Max will be missed just as much, they go down in the Indiana books as true Hoosier ball players (imo). - Don't put full blame on Coach. No one could've predicted UNC shooting that well. Move on. - Thomas and Troy come back? We're pretty darn good next year. Just Thomas? We're still pretty good! Neither? It'll be tough, but go Hoosiers. - Go Hoosiers -
Agreed. I like having the two bigs at the same time. Having Troy in a "leadership" position next year is kind of scary. However, I think he should return. As much as I hate Troy; I love him just as much. I hope De'Ron Davis is unable to start next year. Means we're decently deep.

I apologize for this being barely off topic. But there's a video of Juwan Morgan dunking on OG right? Or OG on Juwan? I just cannot find this video anywhere and I swear it's real lol. -

Polls wise, I think we are in the top 25 tomorrow. Defense was great in the first half, but just sorta seemed to be going through the motions in the second half. Offense was a constant threat and I loved seeing the contributions from everyone out there. OG!!! -
Seems to me if we don't land any actual PG's, we could really probably transition him into the Point Guard role. He's quick enough that's for sure.

I was just saying this yesterday at the game, and talking about the differences between Yogi and Rojo. I love Yogi and he's our best player, no doubt. But what I love about Rojo running point is that he isn't necessarily a "scoring threat". He will occasionally drive to the basket, but he's usually level headed and good at finding someone to make something happen. Yogi is more of a scoring threat which can sometimes cause more possible turnovers. (In no way am I knocking on Yogi) He will be an amazing 4 year player and I hope he'll be a great leader.
