    It has been said that Fife is not the coach in waiting at MSU, but Dwayne Stephens is. So Fife doesn't really gain much from staying at MSU long term either. If he came here with a possibility to take over after Woody, it isn't a lateral move. Plus it has been hinted that he could get quite a bit of a pay raise

    Pretty sure the portal rankings are just based off their recruiting ranking. No way is lander the best prospect in the portal. That said I kinda agree, Xavier is a good player but his turnovers have been a huge problem his entire career.     Yeah I just think Franklin is a 30 mpg guy with or without Stewart. I don’t see his role diminishing either way. If he leaves it will hurt, and I hope he gets treated without any respect next year in assembly hall if he goes to Illinois.     I mean I get what you are saying, but it's not just any "lateral move" It is literally home for Mike Lewis and Dane Fife's alma mater with an outside chance of taking over one day. he isn't getting the MSU job

    I hope so. Their hire was out of left field. I am not saying Woody was better or it won't work out for them but his name wasn't being mentioned as a candidate until he was hired.

    I bring Lewis in for coaching and I assume he would be able to recruit Indiana. The other spot should go to a recruiter with a more national footprint

    DD said after he ended the interview with Lewis that he wouldn't be surprised if Lewis ends up on staff at Indiana. It was more of a hint rather than just an off handed comment

    Most of their seniors have already said they are not coming back. Trice, Potter have already said so. Reuvers is already in the transfer portal. Also read a few articles that acted like Davison was not coming back. They have a lot of young guys from the last two recruiting cycles that have not played hardly at all.
