  1. "Coach Izzo has always known that it is my dream to coach at Indiana, to be the coach at Indiana" Dane isn't shy about his desire to take over one day. Also speaks to why he wasn't considered the head coach in waiting at MSU.
  2. https://www.insidethehall.com/2021/04/13/video-dane-fife-discusses-his-return-to-iu-and-much-more/ Video of Dane's press availability today. Dane is certainly a personality that IU has not had in awhile, but is so needed. He isn't afraid to tell the media how it is but is also willing to build a relationship with them. His humor is a total contrast from the previous staff. Glad to have him back.
  3. correct. Transferred from IPFW to IU then to IWU
  4. I agree. I didn't want him to leave, but simultaneously didn't want him getting many minutes next year. I really wish he could have played this past year as I know how much he loves IU and is a hoosier.
  5. According to Bart Torvik's RosterCast the loss of Joey doesn't affect the roster projection at #18 overall. Just FYI
  6. Joey knows we are bringing on Yasir Rosemond and Jabari Smith.
  7. I said in another thread he is a perfect fit. I would take him as well. He, Stewart, and Hunter together would be a serious upgrade in shooting. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. I agree. Could be the perfect opportunity for them to make a jump in the big ten. If they don't this year, not sure Hoiberg will find much success in Lincoln.
  9. yes it is. It is still very fluid as rosters change each day due to transfers and NBA decisions but it does look like IU will have a roster worthy of top 25 potential.
  10. https://www.insidethehall.com/2021/04/12/a-look-at-who-is-coming-and-going-in-the-big-ten-for-the-2021-22-season/ Updated look on who id coming/going for each team. Still a lot of uncertainty, but IMO it is becoming clearer that the middle-bottom of the big ten will not be nearly as strong as last year.
  11. They will have almost an entirely new roster next year. Will be interesting to say the least Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. I think so too. Will be interesting to see how losing everyone else in the starting lineup and brown affects him though. A lot more pressure to produce Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. I didn’t deflect anything. But I will laugh my @$$ off when Phinisee starts right next to Xavier Johnson. Don’t act like you know who will/won’t start. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Me too. And all of that is tbd with this program. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Again, I am not against adding him. But there are reasons he could struggle here. You named a few. Aren’t you the same guy that thought Tom Allen should be fired and started an entire thread about it?? Not sure you should tell people what is reality and what is not... 16. Thank you. And just to be clear, I have ZERO problem with adding Xavier. I am 100% for it. I just have concerns about how good he will be here. I don’t think he automatically fixes our guard problem and he could struggle here given his past at Pitt. I feel like that is a valid concern. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. Huh? Alright then. I think another poster who went back and watched his games would disagree with you. Would be interested in if usps feels my concerns aren’t based in reality as well. Sure he has watched way more than both of us Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. Lol that’s a very surface level comparison. But thank you Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. That’s all great. You don’t have the concerns and I do. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. His assist/turnovers weren’t even 2-1. And about shooting, my biggest concern isn’t that he’s not a great shooter, but that THIS team needs shooters. I am glad we got him, for sure. Just have some real concerns about how good he is. And I really think that is okay. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. I disagree. They are both play making guards. It is fair to compare them. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Xavier Johnson is an upgrade from Al Durham, of course. But to say he is an upgrade over Armaan is not nearly as clear. Let’s not use how bad IU was as an argument for why it was okay that Franklin left. By all metrics, Pittsburgh was MUCH worse. They were bad all three years XJ was there. He has turnover problems, isn’t a shooter, and has had issues with technicals and coaching. There are plenty of reasons for concerns. I’m not saying he won’t work out, of course I will root for him. But I will need to be sold on the court. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
