IUBB vs Merrimack - 12/12/21 @ Noon on BTN

The biggest piece off the bench is Tamar Bates, he is not injured. Jordan had a double double and a career high, we know you aren’t a fan but just give him props. -
Not as clutch as Ron Harper

One good thing about Purdue still ranked number 1 today is they can lose again! Go NC State. Up 8-0 early!

Minnesota takes down Michigan on the road. most surprising team of the big ten beats the most disappointing

Not a great game by Jalen it looks. But man Dariq Whitehead is a monster, have been really impressed with him when I have watched. -
Will probably be underwhelming. But as long as it contains something requiring Bruce Pearl to keep his shirt on at all times I will be okay with it.

Well they have different roles so it's hard to say who was outplayed. I will agree though that it was Jordan's best game since St. John's. When he understands his role as doing the dirty work and not trying to be an offensive playmaker he is a great asset to this team. Wednesday was certainly a step in the right direction

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

No geo, coincidence that they are winning?

I think it just shows that these players truly dont understand what it takes to win in college basketball. getting by on pure talent isn’t enough anymore. Takes full effort for 40 minutes to be good and successful. Clearly they haven’t grasped that yet.

I mean his best game came on the road last year at the Kohl Center. yes no fans, but not assembly hall. Plus he hit a huge shot at Iowa in the second half last year. I saw a kid last night who played great defense against Davison and Davis at the end of the first half. Not sure how it can be a question of whether he is a big ten caliber player. In his limited time of play he has literally made the two best passes of anyone on the team, hit a deep three, and played good enough defense to keep him on the floor. Strong disagree from me.

Well if I were a betting man I would say that 10-10 in the Big Ten will get you in if you have no bad losses in out of conference play. Certainly Idk that because it depends on other teams. But I would be a surprised if it didn't get them in after they were to go 10-1 in nonconference. As of right now, IU still has 13 games against quad 1&2 opponents. That is plenty. Just have to win games, the rest will take care of itself.

Our players have to learn how to win. None of them have won anything in a college uniform and it shows. Losing a 22 point lead on the road is maddening, losing a 22 point lead at the kohl center after all that this program has been through is just another low. It's baffling really. Here's to hoping we close out the non-conference unscathed and go .500 in conference to get into the dance. That was the goal for this year and it is still attainable. Just where we are right now.

saw that. Do you know what for? Seems odd since he is in his 4th year of eligibility.

What's the over/under on Davison arm pulls and crotch shots tonight?

https://www.insidethehall.com/2021/12/06/news-and-notes-from-mike-woodsons-radio-show-4/ Some highlights of Woody's Monday night sit down with Fisch. I liked this one in particular: On Tamar Bates: “He’s always licking his chops in terms of getting into the game. I just have to get him licking his chops to play defense.”
-
Well Iowa is playing defense and Tony Perkins looks like a dude. They have a chance to be really good and are much more athletic on the wings then years past. Losing luka and not playing bohannon at the point seems to be working so far on both ends of the floor.

Al Durham is Big East player of the week. Congrats Al!

Next game is at Wisconsin on Wednesday (12/8) at 7p.m. on BTN Is this the year? IU hasn't won in Madison since 1998, before our assistant coach, Dane Fife, ever suited up for the Hoosiers. Xavier Johnson might foul out in less than 5 minutes. TJD has to dominate, Parker should keep shooting, and Tamar needs overcome the freshman road woes. Let's Go IU!
-
Yeah I am happy to have the numbers to look at for sure. They really don't mean much right now and would probably make more sense to wait until after the new year but still fun nonetheless
-
I think Syracuse could end up being a quad 1 loss in the end and won't hurt too much. But yes, IU's overall SOS will be down this year since they have have a weak non con and their Big Ten schedule appears to be favorable. But since they are in the big ten they just have to win games and none of it will matter, just like any other year.
