Penn State had to cancel next wednesday's game as well due to COVID. IU travels to Penn State in just over two weeks to re-open big ten play. Hopefully they get things figured out by then.

SAYONARA Crossroads Classic! It is time to put you to bed with one more Hoosier victory. IU has the fighting Irish tomorrow who are 4-4 on the year and coming off a victory against Kentucky. They have struggled this year but do have an impressive freshman in Blake Wesley who most IU fans are familiar with. He is averaging 13 ppg and shooting 38% from downtown. IU will need to keep him and Dane Goodwin in check from three and this game should go our way. IU is 4-1 against Notre Dame in the Crossroads Classic and 7-3 overall. Let's make it 5-1/8-3 and secure the best record in the event! Go Hoosiers.

We are saying IU schedules cupcakes because the big ten tells them who their marquee games will be. Leaving no room for IU to schedule on their own. your same argument was made for the crossroads classic. Literally it was by many (maybe not you). And look? IU replaced it with Kansas, not a cupcake

IU would be able to play someone else marquee in the place of St. John’s. Yes maybe on November 17th or whatever IU plays a cupcake, but without the gavitt IU is free to schedule a big time game against any team. The big ten wouldn’t dictate who/when they play

I pretty much agree with this. There are really only 2 opponents in the Big East worth saving a date for and that's Villanova/Uconn. I do like it instead of a cupcake for sure, but with the rest of the guaranteed games a game like St. John's does nothing for IU.

yeah I misread it as saying atmosphere will suffer without students. But I agree that reselling to general public will be the best option, I know what I will be asking for Christmas in two years.

The game is IU v. Kansas. You could play it in July and 17,000 will show up to assembly hall. The atmosphere will not be an issue Edit: sorry misread your post. Yes I say IU will have to figure that out, but either way it is good for the program to get it on the schedule.

I also love that it is a home and home. Games like this should be on campus. I like the annual tournaments (maui, atlantis, etc.) to be played on neutral courts, but series like this are much better on campus.

Essentially replaces the crossroads classic. I think the argument in favor of the CC is dead.
