  1. Yeah I am not of the belief that the colleges are doing this for public safety. I strongly feel it is because they don't want liability issues, bad publicity, and the hassle/money it will require. Which IMO is going to have unintended consequences of putting their players in more danger.
  2. I know what he was referring to. But that has nothing to do with why college football should or shouldn't be played. And coming from him, it wasn't meant as a simple joke. That is literally his logic as to why it shouldn't be played
  3. use your brain a little bit Brass. Who are the ones that will be very restricted and where they go and what they do? who will be the ones tested multiple times/week and forced to quarantine if they have a positive or the slightest bouts of symptoms? would that be the students or the athletes? Can the athletes spread it, Of course. Who is much more likely to spread it though?? those restricted or those going to parties/bars on the regular? I think you know the answer.
  4. they won't be the one spreading the disease............ the students will
  5. The cancellation of football for player safety is a farce. The players want to play, and if someone is to use a little critical thinking they would understand the players ARE ACTUALLY SAFER if they do play than if they do not. Even Trevor Lawrence and the rest of the players understand this. Again its more about the adults than the players as usual.
  6. Count me as disappointed. Not in rondale or any player that opts our, but of the entire situation man. It sucks. He was a fun college player to watch. Good luck rondale Edit: didn’t mean to respond specifically to your post Wayne. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. Jeff Goodman reporting that BIG and Big East have looked into a basketball bubble for this season. Would be pretty cool if it happened. All learning is essentially online anyways and the players would be much safer than the alternative of not having a season at all or having one on campus.
  8. Saw that IU's fall camp starts tomorrow. Will be at least interesting to follow fall camp even with the uncertainty of the season. Ready for some actual IU news outside of COVID.
  9. Yeah I see 4-5 wins. Hoping for 5 but not holding my breath.
  10. I think the expectations need to be set as to what constitutes necessary cancellations. There will be positive tests, canceling every time there is a positive test means they shouldn't even try. Now removing those players and staff from the team when they do test positive and still moving forward is what has to happen if the season is to be played. Can't freak out if there are 5 people on a team who tested positive because everyone knows that WILL happen as it already has. Not saying I agree with playing the season, just stating that if we are going to try and play, games will need to be played despite positive tests.
  11. That beginning month looks brutal [emoji30] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  12. Yeah I have Wisconsin at number 1 even though I think Iowa and Illinois are probably better teams. But Wisconsin owns the BIG even when they are very mediocre. A top 6 finish in this years BIG will be an accomplishment for any team.
  13. Good time as any to kick them out of the BIG.
  14. https://www.insidethehall.com/2020/08/03/an-updated-look-at-who-is-coming-and-going-in-the-big-ten-for-the-2020-21-season-4/ Final Look at who is coming and going in the BIG after the draft deadline. My updated projections..... 1. Wisconsin 2. Illinois 3. Michigan State 4. Iowa 5. Indiana 6. Rutgers 7. Michigan 8. Ohio State 9. Purdue 10. Maryland 11. Penn State 12. Minnesota 13. Northwestern 14. Nebraska I think the BIG gets 8-9 teams in this year depending on what the season schedules look like. Unlike last year where I felt like IU was middle of the pack in terms of talent and skill, I think they will be able to match up with any team in the BIG top to bottom. Hopefully we get a season because the BIG will be nasty once again.
  15. Looks like he will be eligible for draft next year. He turns 18 in August.
  16. There was a video shared back in the late spring, maybe in May, of him in an open gym. He was playing full 5-5 and was hitting quite a few jumpers. I know it was highlights, but it was more than he hit all last season. Not sure where the video is though
  17. I read that somewhere but never saw it confirmed. I was hoping it was true. If Trayce stays a third year and IU gets Kaufman and/or Mohammed lol serious talent upgrade from the last 4 years.
  18. Article from 247 speculating that Kofi will be staying in the draft. He did get invited to the combine, if there is one. Deadline to withdraw is next week. https://247sports.com/college/illinois/Article/Illinois-Fighting-Illini-center-Kofi-Cockburn-receives-NBA-Draft-Combine-invite-149580270/
  19. Good to see. I thought it was clear after Bossi commented on his improvement that he would jump and be more in line with the 247 ranking.
  20. https://www.insidethehall.com/2020/07/20/offseason-storylines-what-are-realistic-expectations-for-archie-miller-and-iu-basketball/ Pat Forde, Mike DeCourcey, and Rob Dauster giver their opinions on what Archie has done and what they expect from IU this year. Pretty agreeable to all three.
  21. I watched it the other day and was pumped. Then I remembered there most likely won't be a season haha typical IU football luck.
  22. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bossi-s-best-summer-eye-catchers?ga_source=cm This article aligns with what USPS posted a few days ago. Eric Bossi feels he has improved tremendously from last year. I would assume he will jump up from number 82 in their rankings the next time the rankings are updated.
  23. Mich State bound. Izzo has had a good week
  24. Evan Turner is the 4th member. He played half a season in this decade, not sure I agree with including him in this decade but just my opinion
