  1. Just saw where coach passed away today. https://www.bobknight.com/bob-knight-legendary-coach-dies-at-83
  2. At Montverde are they roommates, do they have dorms?
  3. I mean isn’t that normal for us?
  4. I think this highlight reel is pretty good. It shows both the promise and the problems but in the end he ended up with 18 points vs UConn last year. Kel'el Ware vs UConn 11.24.22 | 18 pts (6-8 FG, 2-3 3pt, 4-6 FT), 9 Reb, 1 Blk, 2 TO - YouTube So I would not say he is a massive project but it is fair to say Woody needs to find a way to get more or the potential and less of the problems. Good that we have a lot of depth with Sparks and Malik as needed so we can be patient
  5. I was pretty critical of prior staffs getting more consolation prizes that primary targets. This staff may get more "almost" commits from higher ranked kids than prior staffs but a miss is still a miss. That being said, we currently have just 2 PGs on the roster right? What is a better strategy, to swing after the top PG in BF and miss but end up with the #15 PG or to go after someone in between to be safe? The latter may get you a higher rated player most of the time but is that enough to move us further in the tournament than what we have done? What if the strategy is to go after the top 1 to 2 players/position every year like we did this year with LM, BF and DQ. If we end up with just 1 but we back fill the 2 we miss with 4* kids and still have a chance to bring in portal kids where we have been strong the last 3 years i think that can still lead to more success. Eventually though, we probably need to hit on more than one of the top 20 kids/year if we want to compete with programs that have been doing that. I am good with Davis and continuing to look at portal kids in the spring.
  6. Always a fan a great shooters
  7. Anyone able to send the email and how to get in the list
  8. could be a jr year visit. He has 3 or 4 others set up already. We are getting in late but seem to have one of his last jr year visits. if he reclassifies he still only gets 5 official visits a year i think
  9. I wonder if we prefer him as a 24 or 25 or not sure yet
  10. I tend to agree that he does not have enough coaching experience to make the jump to HC for IU. The right guy trumps having a character that i may or may not appreciate. ARE's twitter timeline seems a lot like Tony Dungy's timeline. They follow Christ and are not ashamed to share. The thing that made Dungy great as a coach was he could passionately believe, live out his faith but could lead others whether they believed as he did or if they did not. That would be the question for any leader, Christian or not. Things we do not know about ARE right now is how he is with all the players he is charged with leading. IF he proves to be a great teacher, coach and leader of men he could become a great head coach one day. Probably the only thing that I think would disqualify someone would be a belief in the greatness of Purdue.
  11. Understandable but one man's approach to living his faith in his work is not going to be the same as the next guy.
  12. New information I got recently suggest there's a window of opportunity for Taco John's and La Poblana to make their move and surpass Taco Bell in Bloomington IN. It's a little more wide open than initially thought. All three places expected to make their final pitch this week. Some info coming in that Taco Bell messed up an official visit somehow early Saturday morning
  13. There is just no way IU would consider it. Other schools sure but not IU.
  14. I never saw what he said only that it was racist/homophobic/misogynist etc. Today these terms can be applied even if the comments are marginal, but since he walked away from the job and has not been back in the booth yet either I assume he definitively said some things that a school like IU would distance themselves from.
  15. I know the staff emphasizes getting the right fit and people who want to work the tails off but I had hoped we could bring in some people like that in the top 25. Still time for sure
  16. Anyone know how Fenn and Wiseman are ranked? Do we have any other commits yet
  17. to be clear, the deleted tweet said what?
  18. What is the big deal here about Maryland taking him to Ruth Chris? I like Zagreb's but not seeing why there has been so many comments about them taking him to Ruth Chris
  19. He is clearly no Magnus Pelkowski but hopefully he can be a little like Miles Turner
  20. Yeah but Lebowski had some good ideas at the D1 level that could work too for that 3rd option.
  21. would really like to add the pg and someone who is a big time scorer. Dont need the scorer to be a pg, a wing or a big necc but would like to add someone who is great at hunting buckets and is very hard to defend.
  22. Assuming we are not going to offer enough money for a absolute HR hire as football coach, there seem to be 3 routes. 1) A prior HC who may have struggled elsewhere (bigger program or perhaps some other baggage) 2) A top D1/NFL assistant who may not have had HC responsibilities or 3) A top D2 coach who has been amongst the best at D2 Option 3 may be the least exciting but there have been a few examples where it worked (Tressel). For fun i looked around the D2 ranks and found this example Brent Vigen - Football Coach - Montana State University Athletics (msubobcats.com). There may be some with midwest experience that could be a better fit. Finding someone at this level who has had excellent results may yield a guy who is great at teaching/coaching and if they have had some experience at a D1 school recruiting then it is an interesting option.
  23. Illegal or against NCAA "rules"?
  24. I cant help but think that, IF, they even bothered to film us they were probably saying things like "you are not going to believe how bad this is" or "oh don't call that play again" or "what are you thinking" or "boss can i leave now, this is going to be easier than a bye week"
