By available, I meant if a player actually plays in a game not if they're injured in the game they play or they play injured. It seems that could be a deciding factor if came down to it. I guess that could be difficult deciding between an impact player and what they might have meant in a specific game. -
I thought this was a thing or maybe I'm misremembering. @Uspshoosier does the selection committee look at players available for games?

Might depend on how we perform. If we get ran out of the gym against both Arizona and KU I can see us falling out of the top 15 easily.

This shouldn't be close. The magic off AH and UNC not playing as well as they did to end last season. I could see IU going on a run midway through the first half and cruising to a victory giving UNC their third straight loss.

It'll be interesting to see how some of these preseason tourneys are configured once the super conferences are formed. Next season the Maui Invite will have both UCLA and purdoodoo from the Big 1.o.

Neutral court game or away game. Not this season, playing at Xavier and at Kansas this season is great. Using KP numbers since we don't have NET numbers yet. Neutral vs #10 Away vs #18 Home vs #21 Away vs #31 I like that schedule but the cupcakes we chose are extremely cupcake-y.

Our administration would never hamper our ability to schedule noncon opponents... I'm sure they could find some "specialty groups" willing to pay if they got something in return.

There are ways to game the system while getting run for the younger players. I just don't see the need to have that many 300+ opponents. There is never a doubt about the outcome only the margin. I'd guess the win expectancy would be in the 90% range against the 200ish teams too.

Not taking away from that Q1 road road win, it's good. That combined with the other games has us in the 350 range of noncon SOS so far. It will improve greatly with UNC, KU, and Arizona. We could do better with the rest of it though.

I'm not suggesting we go crazy and play all power 6 opponents but 5 of our 6 opponents are 258+. Keeping those teams 250ish teams while swapping those 300+ teams for 200ish teams wouldn't change much except increase our noncon SOS. It's a debate every season, there is plenty of room for improvement there.

There’s good and bad to it. I’d much rather have a few more games against solid competition over the 300+ teams. I believe that would help more than hurt. Some coaches and programs don’t want those possible Ls on their hands. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

In Assembly Hall, it really shouldn't be close with the way UNC has played to start the season.

Portland v MSU is going to end before this game. This has been a terrible end to the game. They've let the clock run well past the whistle or ball going through the net a handful of times. Pretty sure the officials and everyone else is over it by now.

Don't get me started USPS!! That possession was going nowhere the whole time. Why wait until the final seconds to put pressure on the defense?

Buy games so far, according to KP: Morehead St - 258 Bethune - 325 Miami (OH) - 282 Little Rock - 329 Jackson St. - 302 Xavier - 31 Our current SOS is really poor (towards the bottom of D1 poor) but should get better soon with UNC, Arizona, and KU coming up. We could do some working on the area between the good and ugly part of the schedule.

Xavier wasn't a buy game. Xavier should be a quad 1 win (top 75 on the road) but NET rankings won't be out for another week or so (?).

I would give the nod to Arizona at this point in part because they have multiple bigs that could guard Edey 1v1 plus plenty of athleticism that would cause purdoodoo some trouble. It would be close and a fun game to watch though.

They may pass us in the rankings this week. Dook, Gonzaga, Marquette, West Virginia >>>>>> Xavier And they didn't just beat Gonzaga by a little but blew them out. They're handling Dook with ease too. They could easily jump into the top 10 with these wins.

If Lucas and McCullough don't hit the portal what is there to talk about? A player or two isn't going to overcome the situation we're in with CTA leading the way.

His heart was looking good running up and down the sideline. I'd like to see IU move on but hope nothing is really wrong health wise.
