  1. We found out about the UNC game last year before they were national runner up, before Reneau committed, and before TJD announced his return? My timeline for that was way off. I guess we have different measure for progress of the program. A single noncon game does little to measure progress in my eyes. Completely agree the game was hyped but completely disagree it being the biggest game of their lives. Who knows with this bunch though.
  2. Many places to go with this one but I'd guess the Big 1.o and NCAA tourney games were slightly bigger than a noncon home game against a flailing UNC team. That's not to say the Rutger game wasn't important as the players certainly knew it was but I wouldn't put it in the same category as season on the line games.
  3. And their biggest win was... on the road
  4. Cal is up to 0-9 and Uof6 is up to 0-8, ouch
  5. No, Steph has broken shooting probabilities but what do you think those probabilities are? It’s fake.
  6. Think he’d get t’d up and tossed quickly for barking at the other team though Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. Calm down, we just need to #LEO a little harder Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  8. Or walker tripping over himself? This isn't really on the officials though as the Big 1.o office has access to all of this. They love them some home cooking. Look, the Big 1.o led the nation in attendance again!
  9. They looked awful the few times I've watched too. Tominaga had a huge game against their ACC opponent (?) and then they beat Creighton. Creighton looked good before but haven't looked great recently.
  10. The officiating in the Big 1.o is absolute garbage.
  11. According to some foreign friends, this is what they used to find Kentucky on a map.
  12. It's not just playing with an edge but includes all of the preparation leading up to the actual playing. Race has looked a bit disinterested to start the season, after facing adversity throughout the game Trayce wanted nothing to do with the end of the game, XJ looks like he wants to fight some mfers most games after a bit of yapping back and forth, Kopp was hitting shots and fumbling rebounds or face guarding while attempting to block out. That's not a recipe for winning basketball. *Note this is not jumping off the IU men's basketball wagon. We have quite a bit of talent and plenty of time to figure it out. We looked like ********* for a lot of the Big 1.o play last season before winning a few games in the conference tourney. We added physical talent but the leadership is much of the same.
  13. Really thought this is where you were originally going and was a little disappointed. I guess we did kind of pee down our leg a little when things didn't go our way.
  14. Didn't think you were, it's disgusting. That's with 4 senior+ players who've started the majority of their careers.
  15. IU's offensive output of 48 points ranks as T-3rd fewest points by a top 10 team. Yuck
  16. We gave up like 12 offensive rebounds in the first half. You almost have to try to give up that many. Which one of our "leaders" does that follow? Was hoping XJ would get them going in the second half. It's much easier to play with that intensity with 17k+ fans having your back.
  17. Kopp had a good game and look at the posts, mostly positive. I'm guessing those posts mirrored his play on the court at the time. Posting about his play (calling him out) or trashing him? I hope that my description of his (or any player on the team for that matter) is mild compared to what his teammates are holding him accountable for. If they're patting him on the back in film session and hoping he does better next time this program has a lot further to go than I originally thought. It would also shine a bit more light on the leadership discussion too. To the first comment you quoted, Kopp and Race have been in college the longest and if we had better options they would be the first to be replaced in the starting lineup. Actually, Reneau could/should be replacing Race in the starting lineup soon.
  18. So you feel like he receives unfair criticism and it's not players trashing him? You're willing to state posters are trashing him but not willing to find the evidence that doesn't exist? That makes a lot of sense. I do call out players because they can reach several more levels than they've played at during their IU careers. Yes, he is fine at his position for a solid Big 1.o team. I'd prefer the team to be at a higher level than that which would require an upgrade at the starting wing position. His isn't the only position that needs an upgrade and again it goes back to culture. I was hoping that a few players would make leaps over the off-season but it really hasn't shown that much. I didn't think Bates would make the improvement some thought he would. Having other commitments outside school and basketball at a young age is extremely difficult. Are you criticizing Bates? Is it okay to criticize a bench player but not a starter?
  19. I see them and think 40+ point wins and please no injury. I'm not sure how much benefit there is to those games.
  20. I think you're missing a game for IU somewhere? And ouch, 6 quad 4 games. UNC could be a Q1 game but they'll need to do something. They haven't looked good.
  21. Not that we lost but how we lost. The same could be said for most of last season, too.
  22. I don't expect TJD to get in anyone's face. He's quiet but enjoyed celebrating after big plays even while losing. He tried talking a win against Rutger into existence but didn't back it up. His individual play is not a problem and he's been the only shiny spot on plenty of turd games throughout his time at IU. You'd like your best player to be a little better leader though. Fouling out just so you don't have to endure that shitshow any longer is one of plenty of times he's shown poor leadership. It doesn't matter in this game but the perception is there and has been there. I appreciate him in an IU uniform for my younger relatives to look up to.
  23. The other issue with that is what have these guys actually won? A few games in the Big 1.o tourney and a NCAA tourney play-in game? I'm hoping with Ren and Fin having won at a high level in high school along with a few others we'll start to see a little progress in winning games that matter.
