  1. This brings up a great point. When was the last time we saw him slash to the rim consistently?
  2. South: Creighton v. NC State East: puke v. Providence Midwest: Texas A&M v. Penn State West: TCU v. Arizona St./Nevada The 8/9 games should be fun too. I'm curious how that Arkansas v. Illinois game will be played. Those teams can both go bananas or off the rails quickly and there should be at least 1 tech on the a coach.
  3. I don't think it'll be that difficult to game plan for us. Defend the paint, pressure our guards, get us in rotations, and don't back down. Not every team has the personnel to do it but it's been out there for awhile.
  4. Nicole is the greatest!! We have a really good draw which could get even better if some key pieces are still out for possible opponents. Survive and advance.
  5. Wait, what was the bait?
  6. I see him after Geronimo on 4.
  7. I'd like to see Reneau develop more as a big wing that could play alongside a true big or as the small ball 5. Pick and pops, plus rebounder at the 4, and can still play in the post. I would agree we need a legit 5 starter type. TJD has been great but not sure Reneau is capable of protecting the rim or defending against the bigger 5s in the Big 1.o for an entire game.
  8. Didn't that happen with UMBC over Virginia the year before Virginia won the whole thing?
  9. Completely agree about recruiting attitude through the portal. We have room to grow there. Adding a wing that could score at all three levels would help XJ along with Gallo making improvements in consistency. I'm interested to see what we do at the 5 post TJD. A rim protector with mobility but could defend if switched on smaller wings.
  10. He's had a couple of good takes this season. I believe that could happen more often and closer to the rim.
  11. As long as we don't get off topic in a way that isn't pumping sunshine. What are we thinking we need from the portal if the likely scenarios play out? Leaving: Race, Kopp, TJD, JHS
  12. That was a really rough sentence. I wish there was a way to show off his ability to score at the rim but driving and backing down smaller guards. He has a huge advantage over must defenders (that would be guarding him) but we don't have the offense or personnel to take advantage of that.
  13. Wish there was a way part of that going off was scoring at the rim. He has another dimension to his game that we don't get to see that much.
  14. Different mentalities too
  15. I couldn't care less what draw purdoodoo got or how far they get. It's about IU and hanging banners.
  16. I really like our draw and the possibilities to advance past a Sweet 16.
  17. Baffling because of the size we have on the court. Is Gallo our shortest player that gets consistent minutes?
  18. I wonder where else it's been discussed for a hot minute... It's crazy announcers can see it while they're calling games too. When we bring that effort and intensity we can play some great defense.
  19. haha such a purdoodoo way to backup their conference regular season championship by 3 games is to have the easiest path you could imagine with the 9 seed, 13 seed, and a 10 seed. I'm sure we would have won it with those opponents.
  20. purdoodoo should thank us for wearing down PSU
  21. As you mentioned, our "shooters" are rarely ever shot ready in our half court offense. I see them more ready on fast breaks than in the half court which is weird. Edit: we go into long stretches of just standing when the ball goes into the post too.
  22. 9-11 against the projected field (one against Kennesaw State) 2-7-2 in losses 5-3-1 in wins Losses (11): (A) Rutger - 40 (N) Arizona - 10 (A) Kansas - 9 (A) Iowa - 39 (H) Northwestern - 41 (A) Penn State - 49 (A) Maryland - 31 (A) Northwestern - 41 (A) Michigan State - 33 (H) Iowa - 39 (N) Penn State - 49 Wins (9): (A) Xavier - 22 (H) Kennesaw State - 114 (A) Illinois - 34 (H) Michigan State - 33 (H) Purdue - 5 (H) Rutger - 40 (H) Illinois - 34 (A) Purdue - 5 (N) Maryland - 31
