What a great lineup of games! I remember watching Romeo vs Wilkes last year, but I'm not sure who carried it. My guess is Fox Sport Indiana. Sure hope they pick this up.

Second chance points are huge.

Wow, 29 on 15 shots. Good Troy showed up big. Keep it up, Troy. -
(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
LockdownD replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Trendon knows that football is king in Alabama. He has witnessed how Indiana shows reverence to basketball. Always has and always will. I'm hoping he will want to play at a basketball school. -
Just lifted your brother up in prayer.

I'm praying for God to give you strength during this trying time.

I thought I read that the program that allows athletes to continue their work toward their degree involves making and staying on an academic plan. Im assuming that the student and university agree on an academic plan to continue to work toward their degree not just quit for a while. I think it's a good program to have at IU for many reasons. Student-athletes may leave for professional, family, or health reasons and Indiana has a program in place to assist the student to fulfill a valuable life goal that being a degree from Indiana University.

I got the feeling that RJ was so frustrated with his role on the team that I would have been shocked to see him return. I remember seeing a picture of him coming out of a game to the sideline and having Coach Crean talk to him assuming about his play. Robert couldn't/wouldn't look at the man. He was over it. Since a coaching change has come about, I could see Robert coming back after his NBA evaluation and being an impactful player under CAM. Robert is a "no bs" kind of guy and I think he and CAM have a lot in common.

Well, wouldn't that bruise an ego!.

I think the coach between Coach K and Knight is Bob Donewald.

We have these traditions for a reason. The name on the front of the jersey is what's most important. It's not a destination, it's who we are. I think it's great that we don't retire numbers. When a player puts on that number, they are assuming a responsibility to be worthy. Be worthy of the number that belonged to player previous and those yet to come. To me the number is more important than the name as it can continue to be relevant and connects generations. But, for heavens sake, don't get rid of the candy striped pants. Those striped warmups "scream" Indiana basketball. It is so cool to see fans in their candy stripes filing in to AH. They are apparently popular with high schools as I've seen several teams wear striped warmups in their school colors. Candy striped pants and Indiana basketball, it's Hoosier tradition.

Personally, I think Newkirk would be most valuable to the team coming off the bench in a reserve role.

I was just thinking how much fun it will be at the IU/OSU football game when Archie gets introduced to Hoosier Nation. I suspect there may be a few buckeye fans show disappointment. I hope.
-
Since Cal is a good family friend, maybe Archie could talk him into resuming our rivalry game. Worth a shot.

Like you, I'm not blown away, but I'm hopeful. I well remember when Lou Watson was replaced by some young guy from Army. Indiana took a risk when Knight was hired. He dramatically changed the style of play the "hurrying Hoosiers" were known for and it was not popular in the beginning. He didn't care as he had a system he wanted to implement. He had a vision about the style of ball he wanted to play and once he recruited players that fit his system, he was able to succeed and build on it. Miller doesn't need to be another Knight. He just needs to be ready to work his butt off to develop his brand of basketball at Indiana. Go Hoosiers!

Some fan bases can and do overlook some things (fake classes, wheels for heels, stripper parties for recruiting). As long as they win, it's no big deal to the fans. I believe our fan base has been proud of the "clean" program that Knight promoted and expects that to continue. Some fans can excuse some things that others can't.

Because they win. Wining helps a fanbase overlook bad behavior.

I see he is shooting with his left hand. As I recall, someone on the coaching staff thought he should switch to his right hand. Glad to see him having success. -
2017 March Madness Tournament Thread
LockdownD replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We went to Indy Friday to watch the first session games. We had a lot of Cardinal fans and UK fans around us. Those fans were really hoping that OSU could beat Michigan. They recognize that Michigan is a dangerous team. Hot teams find a way to survive and advance. -
Just got back home from the girls game. Really enjoyed the game. The girls played hard but struggled with the press. As of now, we're going up to Banker Life to watch the first games tomorrow. I hope to go to Bloomington on Sunday to watch Tyra and her girls play. I love retirement.

Sounds similar to Tyra. I like gamers. -
Very disappointed in how Indiana eliminated itself today. No one to blame but themselves.
