  1. I've seen student coach stated elsewhere.
  2. Interesting. I'm guessing at this point that the above post is not a reference to future playing time. Pretty sure he has been told by IU medical staff that he will never play FB for IU again. However, I guess that could have changed.
  3. Lagow TDs- 2 Lagow Yards- 214 Redding yards and TDs- 144 and 2 Next highest rusher- Clyde Newton Diamont > than 5 snaps? Less Leader in receptions? Paige Leader in receiving yards? Cobbs Leader in tackles? Big Ralph Offensive MVP Redding Defensive MVP? Crawford Points by Oakes? 9
  4. That might be the hardest one to get. D-line looks to be a point of concern this year, and the pass rush a real concern. I think coverage sacks and blitzes are probably the key.
  5. Be a nice problem to have.
  6. I would guess that's how he'll be used. Wilson's offense tends to be a little fluid when it comes to adapting to personnel.
  7. Actually he hasn't. He wasn't ready for it, that was no secret. He's not the second coming of Joe Montana, no doubt. He was always a project, and has always been a long shot to be the starter except as a matter of necessity. I don't know that I've seen very many freshmen QB's put into his spot who looked very good. Do I want to see him as the starter? No, not really. I remember when I watched Ben Chappell the first time. He was in the game for one down because the starting QB had been shaken up and had to leave the game for the down. 1 Down, 1 Interception. Played in eleven games as a sophomore, unimpressive. Even as a junior, while he had a lot of numbers, he manage to throw 15 INTs. Some of you guys need to learn that the staff works to develop players, and if the work at it too, what starts out pretty shaky can develop into a very solid player. Diamont may never start another game at IU, but the moaning and groaning about playing, or being the second stringer is ridiculous.
  8. I think that's basically wrong, because that's pretty much not what he said. His statement was pretty simple, you seemed to have complicated it for the sake of argument. And your assertion that if what you said was correct, the he is a "pollyanna fan" is idiotic and unacceptable. Name calling is against board policy and leaving it as conditional as to whether someone agrees with you are not doesn't cut any mustard.
  9. If I'm not mistaken, Cameron has been getting many of the second string snaps behind Lagow. It's camp, so how the board stacks up in the season may be different, but from what I've read it sounds like Diamont is third string at this point.
  10. Passion play – IU’s Greg Frey coaches tough love Good read!
  11. Too a degree. But my point was, did Matt Weaver frame it as if there was no separation and they were not up to snuff? I agree though, I'd like to hear one guy was just head and shoulders above the rest.
  12. Well, don't automatically go negative on that. Seems like the BTN guys had some good words for Diamont's progress. One noted that Diamont's arm strength shows some real improvement. I think that Lagow has the better arm, but I seem to recall that he's not putting it on target. Overall, I'd love to hear that we had a QB that was just blowing the competition away, but you dance with what you have at the moment. OTOH, I've seens some good comments about King also.
  13. From all I've seen, I think its better that he didn't. Glad we had Suds instead.
  14. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/college/university-of-cincinnati/2016/01/24/gunner-kiel-rejoins-uc-football-team/79264658/ Might be having to earn his way back.
  15. No, but I remember Gunner Kiel.
  16. Seems like I've read that the interest was at guard, but I'm not sure. And its not knocking his game to question whether he fits in at particular position over another. That's much better than a few years back when we were questioning why we were taking a commit who should have gone FCS.
  17. Simmie will be great if he can catch the ball.
  18. I believe Drayton ended up at Marshall. Good luck to him.
  19. Well, looks like the staff is doing a good job stocking up the D-line and I'm always glad to see the guys that the position coaches have to fight over to get them in their group.
  20. Well, they both have interest already, so he knows their out there, but he also knows who made him a top priority.
  21. With the commit of Derrius Mullins, IU now has 11 commits for '17. 247 has this class currently ranked at 54th, and a Composite of 58th. Rivals has IU at 59th, but based on average stars, it appears that they are 50th. I add that average because at this point there are some teams that have 20 or more commits, while others have half a dozen or less. This makes average stars a bit better of a barometer at this point, although its to early for any system to really "tell the tale". Scout has us at 56th and if I counted right, 53rd in average stars.
  22. He's one to watch. I don't know the story, but I've seen some things that say he had some family problems that have put football on the back burner. He has also been at a feew different high schools, I believe. This may be hurting his recruiting and/or ratings. Will be interesting to see how he develops.
  23. Allen Trieu @AllenTrieu New #Indiana commit Derrius Mullins was DL MVP at February's Best of the Midwest: http://www.scout.com/player/197395-derrius-mullins …@MB_Weaver 3:18 PM - 30 Jul 2016
