  1. One of my all-time favorite Rupp Rafters/UK fan exchanges is below. Let me set the stage: 5 star "student athlete" Hamidou Diallo commits to UK and joins their team last December Diallo works out with the team, but apparently, even when offered by Calipari, says "no thank you" when asked to play in games Yesterday, "student athlete" Diallo, after four months with a jersey but not one second of playing time, declares for the NBA draft, and is unlikely to return to UK in the fall. And now, for the best part: the two UK fans with a point - counterpoint that only Kentucky logic could devise: _____________________________________________________________________________ Wildcat-in-STL said: Cal has stated he wanted to let Diallo play but Diallo said he didn't want to play this year. Whats Cal going to do??? Kick him off the team for not going in when asked? Dreklie Not even sign him. Lol. Now dude will get a completely free education anytime in his life he needs it, and for what?
  2. There's a saying that I'll paraphrase: "When you feel like one other person is being an @$$ to you, it might be them, but when everyone thinks you're an @$$? It's you. (of course)
  3. In my opinion: It is extraordinarily sad that you think that anyone who calls you out for being a complete, name calling, politics-inferring JERK... is somehow an indication that the world is super-sensitive. People have ALWAYS shunned the opinions of complete jerks. There is no element of "liberal money mongering", and there no "safe spaces" "snowflakes", "alt-right", "alt-left", "far right wackos" "bleeding hearts" or alt anythings in the equation. Just you... being a complete jerk.
  4. Based in my barely knowledgeable, video only take on him, his game reminds me a whole lot of Joel Berry (if things go well for Robert's development).
  5. And was Keion Brooks Sr's college coach.
  6. Not "a" priority, "the" priority.
  7. It's funny though; I really don't think that Crean was a snake oil salesman. I believe that he genuinely believed in himself and his abilities. However, I think he was an overeager, odd duck that had an off-putting way about him, and that's what screwed the pooch for him in-state.
  8. The Crean era tried hard enough in-state; it just seems to me that the more the in-state recruits and coaches got to know them, the less effective their efforts were.
  9. Archie's credo: "Kiss trophies, not babies."
  10. Final 247 rankings for our 2017 class: Justin Smith at #73 (up two spots) Clifton Moore at #138 (up three spots) Al Durham, Jr at #166 (up 66 spots) Seems like his Derby Festival performance may have given Al a major bump. He looked really good.
  11. This is really good news. C'mon Tre...be a Blue Devil! Duke Goes In-Home With Tre Jones On First Day Of Contact Period Apr 12, 10:50 AM On the first day of the contact period the Duke coaching staff flew to Minnesota to sit down with four star point guard Tre Jones and his family.
  12. I also thought that Malik Williams of UL and Michigan incoming guard Jordan Poole looked terrible.
  13. Ummm...guys (and gals): I know we've been focused on Al and Justin at the Derby last weekend, but Clifton Moore played in the Jordan Brand regional game against a whole lot of top 100, and even more than a couple top 50 ranked players. No defense played in the game; final score 170-162, and our guy Clifton had 11 points. The big takeaways likely came from the experts who saw the game and the workouts between these top recruits. Here's what Draft Express (Givony) had to say about our incoming freshman: CLIFTON MOORE, PF/C, CLASS OF 2017, INDIANA STRENGTHS -Intriguing physical profile at 6' 10 with a frame that should fill out really nicely in time (although on the thin side right now). Long arms. -Fluid in the open floor. Bouncy in space. -Projectable shooting stroke out to three. Ball comes out of his hand really nicely. Great rotation. Has the agility and footwork to shoot off the bounce a little bit as well. -Can straight line drive in space. -Has upside defensively given his length and agility WEAKNESSES-Nice frame but on the thin side right now -Doesn't have the most natural feel for the game -Not overly physical on the defensive end -Prefers to float on the perimeter a little bit offensively -Shooting potential not fully realized at this stage OUTLOOK-The Indiana signee stood out as the most interesting long-term prospect in the Jordan Brand Classic Regional Game. At 6'10, he has the size and length to play some five down the road once he fills out, and the agility to play the four. It's hard to find bigs with Moore's tools and shooting potential, which is likely the key to unlocking his long-term upside. Given the nature of the game we weren't able to get an extended look at Moore's defensive intensity and decision making, but we were able to identify him as an NBA prospect worth tracking. Moore elected to remain committed to Indiana despite the coaching change, and is a major building block for Archie Miller and his staff moving forward. 14. That crazy-@$$ parent needs his own juice box. Has a calming effect, ya know!
  15. Ummm...in tee-ball, everyone deserves a trophy. And a juice box. EVERYBODY should definitely get a juice box. Winners maybe get a bonus cookie. But only if we can all agree which one is ours. Unless it's a game in the morning. Then, winners get a doughnut. With sprinkles. Good coaches make sure every doughnut has sprinkles. So there. I am the RMK of tee-ball coaching acumen.
  16. From the Crimson Quarry...VERY GOOD STUFF; had no idea of the huge family connection to Coach Schilling! "The hire of assistant coach Ed Schilling could prove to be the biggest boon of all considering the history he has in the state. Schilling’s first head coaching job was at Wright State in the late 1990’s, where one of his players was Keion Brooks Sr. Schilling has stayed very close to the Brooks family ever since, and now, 20 years later, Keion Brooks Jr. is a 5-star prospect in the class of 2019 at Fort Wayne North HS. While it’s far from a sure thing that Brooks would come to play under the same tutelage as his father, this is a major development for Indiana in the recruitment of a top talent not only in the state, but nationally."
  17. http://www.crimsonquarry.com/2017/4/17/15320790/recruiting-the-class-of-2018-just-the-beginning-for-archie-miller A good overview article from the Crimson Quarry. Very hot take on Keion Brooks, which will be added to the Keion Brooks thread.
  18. Is there any chance someone goes to a "prep" school for a year? No. ...a player like Gelon transferring to a Jr college and then coming back Nope. _____________________________________________________________________ The last two spots will open when JBj and/or TB goes pro, and/or when current players transfer away permanently. The most likely scenario by far is that both JBj and TB go pro.
  19. Soooo....we should revoke Juwan Morgan and DeRon Davis's scholarships? In my opinion...Your post sucked.
  20. Absolutely possible, but a bit too pessimistic on TB. I'd say JB 95%, TB 65%, Gelon 20%, other 20%. There's been a little bit of barely substantiated whispering about Gelon, hasn't there?
  21. Maybe he will be leaving because he will be getting a college degree, and he wants to play pro ball while his knees still allow him to do so. Just sayin'.
