  1. I am being unclear... People involved can only "sing" effectively against people that they were directly conspiring with. For example, Chuck Person very likely only has anecdotal, hearsay stories about a guy like Calipari. No emails with him, no texts, no recorded conversations, no wire transfers. Nothing that will do any tangible harm. Can Chuck Person do damage to Bruce Pearl? You betcha.
  2. This is getting mentioned a lot; it's important to understand the reality of the situation: From an investigative standpoint, it's tricky. When you have a cooperator and an undercover inserted into a criminal conspiracy, the recordings will lead to the people that the case subjects associate with. That doesn't mean that UK, Duke, or any other school is clean, and it doesn't mean that the case didn't go there, but it could mean that this case which succeeded never came into contact with them. And before you think that the folks who are in deep trouble could flip on the other dirty coaches, remember; the recordings are going to be what eviscerates the defendants, and that type of evidence is either already made on others, or will be all but impossible to collect going forward. Think of this way: If an informant and undercover completely dismantle a drug conspiracy from town 'A', that doesn't necessarily mean that the same informant and undercover have any mechanism to dismantle the drug conspiracy the next town over.
  3. fixed the tone for you.
  4. Auburn's next de-commit may be Brucie Pearl.
  5. Ummmm...per the Courier Journal, UL (soon-to-be-former) AD Tom Jurich's 26 year old daughter was recently hired as an "Adidas Brand Manager.' Methinks a highly paid one at that! http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/basketball/louisville/2017/09/27/university-louisville-athletic-director-tom-jurich-daughter-adidas-brand-manager/707521001/
  6. Yes. The five minutes consisted of: "You're fired." (5 seconds) "But, but, unhh, unhh, but, but...." (4 minutes, 50 seconds) "Get out." (Last 5 seconds)
  7. Per Dakich - John Belein just told me that this is a GREAT day for college basketball. Good for Belein.
  8. Currently listening to the podcast of yesterday's Dan Dakich radio show. It is absolutely, fantastically entertaining. http://www.1070thefan.com/blogs/dan-dakich-show/i-have-zero-compassion-those-cheat-fire-all-them-who-do-dan-dakich
  9. Yeah....riiiight. It was university loyalty that sent the Ball kids to UCLA. Kinda like Jordy Hulls growing up a Hoosier. Wait; you were kidding, right?
  10. Entirely possible; I wonder what Dakich would say about that if it came out!
  11. Not to brag, but they loosely based this guy after me:
  12. Sorry; I'm not trying to be a smart a$$. My point was more along the lines of dismissing all the previous cries of "Why doesn't the NCAA do something?", when the NCAA has practically none of the tools that are necessary to expose the problem. In other words...THIS is what it takes. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. For me? It's kind of the opposite. I always suspected that these things went on, but didn't know for sure. However, I always firmly believed that if it was going on, the only way to clean it up would be through recorded conversations, not through a regulatory agency like the NCAA that could only look at the situation historically, through document examination and interview. 14. And over the next week... Who gets to be 'Queen for a Day'? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  15. Nah... You wouldn't want me for that. Federal investigations? I can fill you in a lil' bit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. Lol... Not to nitpick, but NO ONE is going to jail for 80 years here, or for that matter, 8 years. Federal sentencing guidelines! Maybe two or three years with a plea if they're very unfortunate with the judicial draw and don't earn a 5k agreement, and maybe five to seven if they go to trial and are convicted on all counts. 18. The post-arrest raid is a very very very big deal. Likely means that they didn't have the probable cause for a search warrant until someone flipped after being arrested today. Otherwise, the search would have been conducted contemporaneously to the arrests. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  19. Not holding you to that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. It was addressed somewhere in this thread. I will say; there are two separate schemes here- one in which the players were getting paid big time to go to a college team. That's where UL, Miami, and South Carolina are in big trouble. The other scheme involves assistant coaches taking bribes to steer players to a financial advisor. That doesn't feel as "program-related" to me, and that's Auburn, USC, Zona, and ok st. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. Pitino? Sure. Jurich? No doubt. Could even be the university president. That would be big news. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. SWEEEEET! There's hope for UK-involvement yet!
  23. Pitino ain't gonna last the week. He will at minimum be suspended by Friday 5:00 pm.
  24. Makes me happy to see Rabby saying that!
  25. Entirely possible! EDIT: But apparently not entirely likely!
