U.S. District Court Judge Lewis A. Kaplan on Thursday denied a motion to dismiss federal criminal charges against three of the 10 men arrested for their alleged roles in the FBI's two-year investigation into college basketball corruption. Attorneys representing former Adidas executives James Gatto and Merl Code and former sports agent Christian Dawkins argued in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday morning that what their clients are accused of doing -- allegedly funneling money from Adidas to the families of high-profile recruits to ensure that the players signed with Adidas-sponsored schools, and then Adidas and certain sports agents and financial planners once they turned pro -- doesn't constitute a federal crime.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Oh. I was putiing in terms of whether skipping the Vandy visit would make me happy, but... Anytime he announces for IU is a good time. -

Nope! I want him to see his choices, the game environment, the coaching style, the whole thing. Then, if he announces for Vandy I'll be more okay with it, and if he announces for IU I'll know that he was fully informed and because of that did the right thing. In other words; if we believe that he's legitimately trying to see which program has more going for it, the contrast should be striking and obvious. -

I would slightly differ: Rob Phinisee does not seem like a real "professional," He seems like a real student athlete, and a real Hoosier. -

Yes! By the way...have you ever seen Rob Phinsee interviewed? I'm hoping that IU gets a roster full of players that want to play with Rob. And, I'm hoping that Romeo sees that in Rob, and is one of them. -

Entirely possible (likely?) But if I'm USPS and I'm reading that response, I'm thinking "really?" So, if nothing else, trying to do some preemptive "modding" so that all can understand that sarcasm should be clear, so as not to piss on extremely valued posters who provide fantastic insight. -

11 hours ago, Uspshoosier said: No they don’t. They got rid of looking at the last 10 games a long time ago. A win in February is the same as a win in November Geez bridges: USPS brings accurate, informative substance to the board and that makes you snarky? If that was tongue in cheek you should make that clear. Otherwise, not a fan of that post. -

A team can win when: The talent between the two teams is comparable The game is a sloppy mess, and Your team does not shoot it especially well IF the following things occur: Your team defends. That's it; the whole list! ^We are that team^ -

Tell me how I'm misinterpreting this: Florida has started to play well again. A game at Vandy's gym featuring a Florida comfortable win played in... A less than full arena in front of... A fanbase that does not know or especially care who Romeo Langford is...during A game where Romeo either sits behind the bench under the backboard and below floor level near Drew or sits... A million miles away on the sideline away from the team and below floor level Can only help IU's chances. I hope Shittu attends the game on crutches. -

Potential starting 5 for next year, does Juwan GoPro?

DeRon Davis was already a step slow to be a big on defense in Archie’s system. I am quite sure that a repaired Achilles’ tendon will only exacerbate that dynamic. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Maybe so, but RP will not have the firepower of Cody, Hulls, VO, and Watford to compensate for his learning curve. Can't wait to find out! -

I have this perverse hope that he goes to a Vandy game, sits below sea level behind the bench behind the baseline in a 50% full arena, and watches some medium grade SEC team smack the crap outta Vandy while Drewfus grins and pleads. Is that too much to hope for? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Also agree. I believe that with Morgan, Smith, and probably Hunter we’ll have mucho depth at the four, but we will need someone to defend the five and protect the rim. Out of a rehabbed Davis, Moore, Thompson, Forrester, and maybe a mystery grad transfer to be named, we need at least one and probably two to be productive. If true, this would be a FANTASTIC pull: All-MAC academic as a business management major. Best defender on a team that is reasonably likely NCAA bound. 16.7 ppg, 38.2% from three, 84.6% from free throw line Good SG size at 6'4", 195 From Evansville What's not to love about that? A whole lot better than speculating about another Priller/April type.

And FrankieVision is all in for clicks by running that few seconds of footage. -
Just a fantastic read. My favorite part? Unlike so many, Gottlieb never proposes that he made "mistakes". Instead he tells the unvarnished truth in vivid terms; describing how he made horrible decisions, and how he did so primarily because, at that time in his life, he was entitled and thought he could get away with it. Huge kudos to Gottleib for telling his stark truth in a way that can be notably valuable to others.

I dunno...i smell a rat: 1) Every other part of that video shows Romeo’s face while he’s signing; only that “Vandy” writing doesn’t let you see his face while signing. 2) Every other autograph is signed with a black sharpie; that one autograph where you can’t see his face is signed “Vandy” with a blue sharpie. 3) “FrankieVision” is based in Louisville , and more importantly seems to be the worldwide industry leader in Darius Garland videos on YouTube. 4) In the comments below the Romeo video tweet, the FrankieVision moderator states “I’m not to(o) familiar with Damon Bailey. Was his games in high school as crazy as Romeo’s?” 5) Do you think Romeo Langford is so disconnected from reality and social cues that he would write “Vandy” on a young IU fans hoodie, and do so right as a “FrankieVision” camera zooms in? I smell a rat. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

McBob would have to dramatically improve his handle to be a guard on offense. -

Well: Those three are likely starters and the other five would likely fill out most of the remaining rotation, but there would also need to be at least one, and probably two other guards in the rotation. Phinisee and Al I presume, but a grad transfer wouldn’t surprise me at all. Also, as much as I want DeRon to be good enough to anchor the middle, his quickness was such a detriment before the injury and I am now skeptical that he will ever be quick enough to be a 20 min per game player. Too many of you are sleeping on Justin Smith as a regular starter for the next three years. Also, if Langford makes it to Indiana, there will be more than enough scoring in the starting lineup and Mc Roberts is very likely a part of that starting lineup. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
