  1. I’ve got a sneaky hunch that Kaiden Turner is going to show out next year. He’s not a small guy, but when he plays he looks fastfastfast.
  2. It’s not as important as Hoover, but it’s probably more important than Marsh. You know who else isn’t being talked about enough is an incredibly major addition? Joe Hjelle. We’re gonna LOVE Joe Hjelle. With Tyrique, Mario, and him as the defensive tackles and Bones and Ro back and Haines scheming up, I’m not sure who in the hell or how the hell anyone is going to run the ball on us. It almost seems unfair how stacked we’re gonna be in the front seven.
  3. Carson Beck has dead fish eyes. Discuss:
  4. Tucker Devries is as slow as a snail on sedatives working at a Department of Motor Vehicles (with apologies to any DMV workers).
  5. Hey all, Many many posts from many posters (myself included) that are off-topic here. We have threads that cover both Nick Marsh and the NCAA's lack of enforcement capabilities. Let's please ASAP get this thread back on track -- IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Updates. Thanks
  6. That's a really really good get. The surest of sure things so far. Carter Smith, Evans, Lynch, Brunner, Ajani would be a dominant O Line.
  7. Help me out here: How will this be easy to prove?
  8. True. Also true that this app is overwhelmingly used for betting. Also true that without a law enforcement subpoena issued to the betting platform for financial statements, this kind of thing is all but impossible to investigate. Finally, also true that no law enforcement agency is going to initiate an investigation predicated on some 19 year old kid having a FanDuel app on his phone's home screen. So, this is a giant nothingburger.
  9. Both are true. The first conclusion is directly related to the second.
  10. Watch BuffedInPrime's game projection. You'll feel way better about IU vs. Miami's defensive line.
  11. Probably pretty bad. But he's a freshman that has zero strength and never played defense previously. Bailey is not good, but he's way better than that.
  12. Why don’t we put him in? because he’s getting trucked in practice every day by Sam Alexis and Reid Bailey.
  13. Given all of the DBs we've signed, for me it's safe to assume Ponds is a goner. To me he changes the entire defense - playing zone while putting him on an island against the other team's #1 WR is a game changer. Coop, as good as he is, is far less critical a keep than Smith.
  14. The last college football team to go 16-0? Yale. 1894.
  15. I feel as if we are gonna have one surprise retention between Cooper, Ponds, and Carter Smith. Based on our portal recruiting Smith is the leading candidate.
  16. Best case scenario for this year is that we win games against teams that don't decidedly out-athlete/out-talent us, especially along our front line, and squeak out a 9-11 B1G season and a play-in tourney berth. Iowa is one of the games where we can succeed. And then rebuild with some players with live legs and strong bodies.
  17. The guards are pretty good; Lamar is one of the five best players IU has had in the past ten years. Conerway can play, and Enright would be a key piece on a team where he could be the seventh/eighth man. The front line is the worst I've seen at IU since Crean's first two years. Gotta go back to Bobby Capobianco and Tom Pritchard to get worse starting bigs at IU. Bailey and Alexis try hard but just aren't up to the task, and Tucker is slow as ****. Our one rotation freshman Sisley is the most athletic player on the roster. That's not a good sign, but at least we return a major building block. The scheme on both ends and attitude/body language are good. A major improvement over Woodson (duh) and Archie. Recruiting looks fine or better; we desperately need athleticism and Karvala and (hopefully Manhertz) have that, though they will need a while to show it. Prince AM may help much sooner. In summary? Rome wasn't built in a day, the roster stinks but the coaching looks good, and hopefully the staff has learned important lessons about roster building.
  18. Frazier is apparently scheduled to be in Btown this Thursday. Brunner? Because he's already been in Bloomington, no news is bad news IMO.
  19. Good on you, laddy! https://www.newryreporter.com/sport/other-sport/mullaghbawns-american-football-hopeful-paddy-mcateer-commits-to-troy-university-trojans-4728459 Paddy, upon committing to Troy last year, “I feel as though I can fit into the environment there, whereas if I went into a big city… As people from Mullaghbawn know, it wouldn’t be bigger than your fingernail!" Good on you laddy!
  20. You did not include that: Miami fans will pay a few thousand less than IU fans because of no travel or lodging expenses. Miami fans won't even need to miss a work day to be at the game. Miami students can easily get to and more easily afford the game. Their parents can already afford the $90k annual cost of Miami. We have many more alums, but Miami students and alums have a higher per capita income. There are also a ton, A TON of very wealthy people in South Florida that will be there solely because it's a marquee event. They will lean toward rooting for Miami. All that having been said, I would expect the crowd to be relatively split -- between 55/45 for one or the other team, which for a true road game would be fantastic.
  21. How are they gonna know what’s behind that app? Subpoena? Nope—the NCAA is an industry regulatory organization. Law enforcement? lol no. Not for this. So Mr. “not a sunshine pumper” what ya got?
  22. Sam Alexis is playing with outstanding energy. Hope it’s contagious.
