  1. Grizzlies beat writers' final roster predictions: OK, projection time: Who will be on the final 15-man roster for the Memphis Grizzlies? Siskin- Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, Tony Allen, Chandler Parsons, JaMychal Green, Zach Randolph, Wade Baldwin IV, Deyonta Davis, Troy Daniels, James Ennis, Brandon Wright, Jarrell Martin, Vince Carter, Troy Williams, Andrew Harrison. So long Jordan Adams. Stephens, Selden, Hunter all go play in Iowa with the Energy. Hubbard Jr.- Well, Grizzlies fans might disagree but here goes…You have your core players in Conley, Gasol, Randolph, and Allen. You have your wing in Parsons with the starting five. Then you have JaMychal Green and D.J. Stephens. You have your bench players in Wright, Baldwin, Davis, Jarell Martin, Troy Williams, Troy Daniels, Vince Carter, and the last player will be James Ennis. Goodbye to Jordan Adams and Andrew Harrison. Lucas- Conley, Baldwin, Harrison, Allen, Daniels, Carter, Adams, Parsons, Ennis, Randolph, Gasol, Green, Martin, Wright, Davis. No Stephens, no Williams. Conner- Right now, I still don't see any changes. I think the fifteen contracts that they've got will be the ones that they take into the start of the season (Conley, Parsons, Gasol, Randolph, Allen, Carter, Daniels, Ennis, Baldwin, Adams, Davis, Martin, Green, Harrison, Wright). If I had to go out on a limb with a roster move hot take, though, I'd guess they ditch Adams in order to keep Williams. Yeung- Conley, Parsons, Gasol, Z-Bo, Wright, Allen, Carter, Daniels, Ennis, Baldwin, Deyonta, Jarell, JaMychal, Harrison, Troy Williams. See ya Jordan Adams and D.J. Stephens. Oh, and Ryan Hollins on call. Mullinax- I think there is a clear what they should do and what they will do here. Fourteen of the fifteen names are the same regardless- Conley, Baldwin, Harrison, Allen, Daniels, Carter, Parsons, Ennis, Green, Randolph, Martin, Gasol, Wright, Davis. Those guys should be locks- Carter bring a valuable veteran presence to an inexperienced bench, plus he could be a valuable trade piece. Harrison has too much size and capability to play any wing position to lose that versatility. What they should do with spot #15? Give it to Troy Williams. Send him to Iowa to get game reps. Ship him to and from Iowa, keep him around and develop him, seeing as how Vince Carter is likely gone after this season. That would mean parting ways with Jordan Adams, but he will almost certainly never be again what he was even in flashes for the Grizzlies. Who knows what Williams will be as a finished product, but his ceiling today is higher than Adams is. Now, will they do this? Probably not. I see Memphis keeping the fifteen contracts they have and hoping Adams can get healthy for a post All-Star run. But they have to decide on next season by October 31st, as our Matt Hrdlicka pointed out on Twitter, so time may not be on Adams’ side. If he can’t play this year, maybe this is indeed the time they look in to ways to parting with the contract. But they would really have to love Williams or Stephens to deal with an Adams release. Perhaps they do. Williams is especially tantalizing. Another year, another end-of-the-bench bit of drama in Memphis.
  2. MSU center Gavin Schilling has knee surgery and is out indefinitely. Without him and Carter they are a much lesser team.
  3. Oh, puhleease. Not trying to get crocodile tears. Just wondering why all the Dukie love above and beyond IU love, right down to your Coach K signature line on each post, on an IU board. Don't want to derail the thread any further; probably shouldn't have to begin with. Move this back to IUBB.
  4. How so? Geez, I always have found you an entertaining (and honest) poster, but the inferred theme lately that you prefer Duke and Allen to anything currently at IU is notable. And I'm not sure why.
  5. That is a FANTASTIC line for 19 minutes. Double it for a full starter minutes average of 20 pts on 4-4 FGs and 10-12 FTs, 12 rebs, 2 asst, 4 steals, 2 TOs. More importantly, looks like their coach used ten guys, and neither Carter nor Daniels were one of the ten. I think he's on the roster. If he's not, he will be on some NBA team's opening day roster.
  6. Devonte is holding back. If you've seen his twitter feed via ITH, he's a very opinionated, engaged young man.
  7. Jon Crispin, after emceeing the televised IU Big Ten Network practice in person, was asked what his impressions were of OG Anunoby. He said: "He physically is the most impressive person I have seen in college basketball. And I would say, ever."
  8. And it includes your new hero... this guy:
  9. There are two things y'all are gonna learn from this video: We're gonna love this year's team. Collinn Hartman is not on crutches.
  10. Collin Hartman @CollinHartman30 Any suggestions for what song I should come out to at Hoosier Hysteria? #iubb
  11. Link? I don't see anything in the news about a Schilling injury; just Carter.
  12. Hope he's okay. He is the only Spartan capable of some level of real interior defense. Without him they are in deep doodoo.
  13. From a soon to be published Rick Bozich pre-season basketball preview: 8. The OG Report I just finished a 2,200-word story on Indiana forward OG Anunoby that will run in the college basketball preview edition of Basketball Times. I’m not going to scoop myself, but I will share one anecdote from Anunoby’s father, OG Sr. Anunoby was one of the lowest rated recruits in the Big Ten last season (No. 280 composite by 247Sports), but he did take at least two other official recruiting trips before visiting IU. On one trip (Mr. Anunoby declined to identify the school), the players in that program and Anunoby moved into the coach’s yard for a game of baseball. Anunoby said that his son threw the ball so well that the basketball coach told him that if that school’s baseball coach ever saw OG throw a baseball he’d steal him for his team. Dad was not surprised. He thought OG’s best game was baseball. Anunoby excelled as a pitcher and center fielder through the ninth grade. Then he gave up football, baseball and track to concentrate on hoops.
  14. 247 composite #227 SF Aaron Wheeler commits to Purdoodoo. Chooses Burlers over Seton Hall, St Louis, Creighton, etc. Yawn-eroonie!
  15. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Then the name came to him...Vonleh. Whose IU time was...forgettable.
  17. Yes! DeRon just needs to get in shape. Understandable since he's only had six weeks on campus.
  18. I agree we will have Juwan for at least this year and next, but he sure looked athletic to me today. Explosive, strong, and with a guard quality handle at 6'7".
  19. OG dominated the scrimmage
  20. DeRon Davis looks exhausted, and not in especially fit body shape. MSB looks more athletic than DD does.
  21. Did I mention... Juwan Morgan is really really good at basketball?
  22. Oh... and JBj looks like he's completely healthy
  23. The player I noticed the most was Juwan. He looks as quick and explosive as any guard on the team. TB looks quicker, not so much for DeRon. Newkirk is vocal and looks excellent. MSB has gained a lot of muscle, but still is slow. CuJo has a really sweet stroke-tons of good wrist action. CTC running the whole show and using the hour as a great recruiting tool.
