They are indeed, and deservedly so imo. They play well together, it's not just the DA show, but he is unquestionably their leader. The behind the scenes ****show this group has went thru the last couple of years would destroy most teams. DA keeps them focused and they keep on trucking. He is the polar opposite of the tissue paper tough leadership our current roster exhibits. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it bears repeating. DA toyed with the idea of going to LaLumiere Academy for his senior season, but decided he couldn't do that because it wouldn't be fair to his teammates that he had grown up with and the goals they still had.

Bummer. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery young man.

Interesting example. They did that under Mark Mangino. A guy who had no D1 head coaching experience, was once a (gasp) high school coach, and it took him 4 years to have a .500 season. Their big year was his 6th. Given some of the comments in this thread, there is no way in hell this fan base would have 1) hired him 2) supported him 3) not made fools out of themselves belittling his weight problem. And for what it's worth, KU got put on probation 2 years after that big season. 5 major violations, including academic fraud and lack of institutional control.

We were ranked around 15th. Henderson only played about 10 minutes and Bailey got benched the whole second half. It was close until about halfway thru first half, then all hell broke loose. That was a depressing one for sure, but I have several that were much more infuriating. 1992- lost to PU last game of season in Mackey, cost us the B10 title. So ticked off I broke out in hives. Truth, ask my wife.
