  1. I might start a few minutes late, this NW/PSU game has been a goodie...so I want to finish.
  2.   Well, I don't hear any talking head calling our name for anything past the sweet-16, so I'm sticking w/the darkhorse scenario.
  3. Even w/a top 50 or 60 defense we would be dangerous.  Hopefully they step this year.  We could be a dark-horse come tourney time.
  4. 20 minutes to GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME TIME!!!!
  5. I hope that fans show up!  We're playing the #10 team in the nation!  It's not a sexy matchup (ie Michigan, OSU, Nebraska, etc), but still, #10!  C'mon fans!!!!!!!  Make it loud in Memorial Stadium!!!!!!!
  6. Maybe the traditions are being built. Multiple helmets, a big rock, fireworks. Sounds like traditions in their infancy to me.
  7. Ah, so if we stayed with one helmet we'd be a powerhouse? Cmon grumpy. You're just trying to find anything you can to complain about.
  8. @PuntJohnPunt: Offensive S&P+ ranks for Iowa's FBS opponents: 58, 53, 120, 55, 101, 111, 100 #iufb's rank: 20
  9. I just thought it was a good intro and outro. Nothing more nothing less.
  10. IUFB doesn't have the tradition that OSU has.  I can't fault them for the helmets nor the number of designs.    This one looks decent.  Not great, certainly not my favorite, but it's ok.  I think it'll look better on the field than in a close-up shot like that.
  11. Linky.  Discuss.  Keep it civil please.     Mods...I started it...but let's keep an eye and lock it down if it goes sideways (which it probably will).
  12. I pulled this from USA Today (no date was shown so I'm not certain if it's 100% up to date accurate) but whenever the next hire occurs, I'd like to see us open the purse strings to about $2.5-$2.7m per year for our coach.  This would put us within the median of the B10 as far as base salaries are concerned.  Right now Kevin Wilson is the 65th highest paid coach (speaking school-based annual figures) and 12th in the B10.  We've come a long ways from paying Hep $300k in 2006, but we still have a substantial gap to cover.     Michigan Jim Harbaugh $7,004,000   Ohio State Urban Meyer $5,860,000   Penn State James Franklin $4,400,000   Iowa Kirk Ferentz $4,075,000   Michigan State Mark Dantonio $3,671,520   Nebraska Mike Riley $2,700,000   Minnesota Jerry Kill $2,500,000   Northwestern Pat Fitzgerald $2,490,858   Wisconsin Paul Chryst $2,300,000   Purdue Darrell Hazell $2,140,000   Maryland Randy Edsall $2,110,648   Indiana Kevin Wilson $1,312,277   Rutgers Kyle Flood $1,250,000   Illinois Bill Cubit $915,000
  13. So you have IU - 38 and Iowa - 35. Confirming is all.
  14. I'm freaking lost.  Doesn't Indiana grow both Corn and soybeans?  I mean, there's more than corn in Indiana.  I don't know Iowa's agricultural climate well enough.  Do they grown soybeans too?
  15. Time to talk Iowa.  I freaking hate bye weeks.  They serve their purpose but I don't have to like them!   Next on tap.  IOWA.     GO HOOSIERS!!!!!!!
  16. Hazell returning for 4th year.  Thank you Purdue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Went to a number of FW Komets back in the day. Prior to the Coliseum being renovated. Tons of fun! I took my son to his first NHl game prior to moving east. The Avs vs Islanders. We were 6 rows from the glass in a corner. He had the time of his life! Other notable games. Saw game #4 as the Ducks swept the Avs back in '06 or '07. What made it great was that it was from an auditing firms suite on the blue line. Freaking fun! In '03 saw the Sharks beat the Avs in game 6. Notable because my buddy and I caught the fame on a whim by finding seats online. I wore my Sharks jersey and was challenged to a number of fights post game. Avs fans suck. Lol
  18. Not regionally specific but fiercely loyal. :)
  19. SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I felt the earthquake in Delaware.....MSB must be in!!!!!!!!!!
  21. DUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. It's a regular season / post season game.
  23. Lol seriously. What kind of punishment is that?!?! Lame.   Edit....he's already counting his paychecks from the NFL.  He doesn't really have to care much about college and all of it's rules.  Plus, w/the DUI, DWI, OVI,whatever it is under his belt, he's fitting right in w/the NFL persona.  Break some rules, beat some women, drink some booze.  Good to go!   I kid I kid of course, so don't all of you 'nah-uh that's not how NFLers really are' people fire back!  :)
