IU had this game in hand, IU relaxed while Oregon adjusted, and here we are. This Hoosier team is incapable of sustaining a lead through lack of focus, energy, etc, So frustrating watching this unfold.

So if we are down to 4 according to some (excluding Stevens for this conversation, and for some odd reason feel compelled to leave off Turgeon as well…..) McDermott, Wade, McCollum, and Brownell, what is everyone’s preference here? They all bring something different, so I would be curious on what posters are thinking would be best for IU out of the group I listed. **I’m not saying it’s actually down to those 4, but after today, just going off of some generalizations.**

Good dude, was a good poster. You should go read a thread from a month or so back about boards and how you got to BTB. Some of us old message board fantastic still roam around.

I might be in the minority, but I don’t mind a rebuild with a new coach as long as there is progress and sustainability. With Woody and Archie, writing was on the wall after 3 years. I’m open to any coach that warrants being hired and then builds a competent program that has continued success.

While I would support him and get behind the program, this would be extremely disappointing if it comes to fruition. Just pray his last couple years are the new norm.

I agree, but I think the issue is that college coaches don’t seem to be jumping ship quite as easily as they used to. While I would love a very successful coach at a lower P4 school, it may just not be in the cards. I’m not out on mid-majors after Archie. I think IU learned a lot this last go around with that, and they can better adjust their search with mid-major coaches. I’m not saying McCollum or Huss are my top candidates, but getting a mid-major type might be the most feasible option Dolson has. We just don’t know because of how tight lipped this is.

Brownell was seen talking to Dolson this morning to discuss becoming to the new coach. (I feel dirty spreading that lie thinking speaking it into existence will make it happen)

While I would try my darnedest to support Brownell, I just can’t see that happening if Dolson is truly committed to resurrecting the basketball program. Nothing speaks mediocre like hiring Brownell. ONLY reason he is being considered is because he’s from Indiana and has some ties. That’s it. Give me McCollum or Shertz (can’t remember if that’s how you spell his last name) all day long over Brownell because there is at least potential there. With Brownell we would make the tournament probably every other year and almost no success in the tournament. That’s nothing close to what IU is truly about, even with the last 25 years. Give me Wade and Beard over Brownell. If you can’t tell, I don’t want Brownell at all lol. I’m tired of supporting a broken program that should be elite.
