Hey the last national TV footage of IU basketball this year . The NCAA selection show opening montage had Illinois Wagler taking DeVries to the basketball for an and 1 . Neat Seriously though watching that Big 10 title game . Man so far away from anything like those 2 teams. Feels like we need Power Ball level luck and money to get even close. Because we are IU fans and we routinely grasp at straws for the last decade. I know Ryan Carr was great at his pervious job and maybe he will be good at this one, but no one needs to anoint him a savior. It was low risk high reward decision for Carr if DDV doesn't work out the Pacers or another NBA team will probably welcome him with open arms he gets paid by his alma mater and is probably at home a HECK of a lot more. Do I think he might be able to help increase the talent level of this program? I'm guessing marginally at best. Basically we should avoid any Reed Baileys in the future. Too many other issues to make me think we will be close to were most think IU basketball should be which again a much lowered bar because of the last decade.

On Feb 9th IU defeated Oregon 92-74 to improve to 17-8 looked like they were heading for a 20+ win season and birth in the NCAA tourney. We went on to lose 6 of the next 7 . Lets keep the roster the and everything else the same and say on the 9th IU was instead 8-17 . and then starting having a NW like end of the season and we were currently winners of 6 of 7 or even 7 of 8 because we would have played on Tuesday in the BTT . And were getting ready to play Purdue today at 15-18 . Win or lose knowing the roster and things DDV and staff members have said about the Big Ten and how they need to adjust/change would you feel better or worse about the future of the program? so basically when it comes to year 1 would your rather have ? finish above .500 middle of the Big ten decent start to the season but fell apart at the end miss the tourney OR Struggle out of gate with some bad losses but rally and play your best basketball at the end of the season but finish under .500 and bottom of the Big Ten.

Yeah I mean at this point he needs to flat out say in his post game presser . I wasn’t good enough and show a heart and passion or there is no point in even pay remote attention to this program next year or in the future . This is just flat out embarrassing

I mean this last month as been as bad of a stretch of basketball as any over the course of all of this . Again it’s DDV for the foreseeable future I get it but I don’t think it’s getting better maybe the money can bring in the talent to get 1-2 more wins maybe sneak into the tourney next year maybe not but we’re are a LONG WAY from being able to compete in the top half of the Big 10 let alone compete for a conference title it’s bad

We’re getting torn up for the 2nd time by a 5’10 on a good day freshman pg who averages like 5ppg . Can’t make it up .

This program is cursed no one can change my mind there is literally no other explanation. IU basketball will never be good nothing we can do . Except it and move on .

Not as worried about the bubble though I will probably watch most of SMU and U of L probably the biggest one in terms of help for IU today. Also gotta root against bid stealers. These 3 in particular need to win their conference tourney for IU to even have a chance. Miami OH - MAC Utah State - Mountain West St. Louis - A10 Unfortunately I worry about all 3 . Miami OH only played Akron once and they are in no matter what most likely so are they lacking motivation? Utah State won the MWC BUT was swept by UNLV in conference play and Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn is playing like an mad man for the Rebels. St. Louis is fading got beat by 30 against GM not too long ago, rumor about Schertz leaving might have become a distraction with 4 other 21 + win teams in the A10 not looking good.

re-watching the game from Feb, Conerway was soooooo good at getting to the rim vs NW guards ended with 14. Might not be a bad game to start the 3 guard line-up with Page out. Enright, Conerway, Lamar, Tucker, Alexis .

NW Big man Arrinten Page is OUT tonight vs IU. Had 10pts, 6rebs, 4ast,2steals vs IU in Feb. Obviously have to try and contain Martinelli as much as possible. Also guard Jake West dropped 16 on 3-5 from 3 when he averages 5ppg in Feb. NW essentially played 6 guys vs IU last time with Page out IU has to take advantage

Yes correct he had to figure out how to get from (*checks notes*) 27 wins, 2nd in the Big 10, a BTT title, and a sweet 16 in year 1 to 29 wins and counting, a big 10 title and arguably the national title favorite in year 2 . Apples to Oranges. Dusty May is an ELITE coach I get it he will never be the HC at IU I've accepted that timing was a b**ch. DD is the guy for the foreseeable future but he aint touching what Dusty did this year in his year 2 no matter what he says he's "learned". Honestly my gut tells me he might get a little more talent next year. If he can finish inside the top 7 in the Big Ten next year that's a win IMO. But right now I'm not sure I've seen enough to believe that's possible. Hope I'm wrong!

Sorry fellas Multiple drinks plus Indy Car race that led directly into an IU game was a bad recipe . I know it is what it is can’t do a damn thing about it. Just wanted to watch at least 1 game in the first round . Tourney loses so much of my interest without IU . Tired of just hate watching Purdue games also my grandfather is 89 years old big part of the reason why I’m and IU fan just wish we had something exciting and positive to talk about on the phone in regards to the program . He Has told me multiple times just wish they’d be good one more time in my life . We used to go to a game every year this year his health wasn’t good enough to make the trip was a bummer so I just hoped we could watch back inthe tourney instead . on to portal season and as always maybe next year

Empathic to a guy making millions of dollars and has great resources and can’t find 8 guys to build even a top 68 team in the country ? Jackson literally said on the broadcast cast DeVries told him he was surprised about the BiG Tens 1) physicality 2) level of coaching 3) need for interior plays Like are living under a rock when it comes the Big Ten Basktball the last 20 years !?!? Huge red flag

Give me one reason why I should feel good about DeVries ? worst season of power conference first year guys . Hell FSU and Minnesota aren’t tournament teams but at least they showed progress . Other guys ( Odom , McCollum , Wade etc) have there teams in the field. we are LITERALLY the same team

Any person who has any faith whatsoever in Darian DeVries that IU basketball can be anything more than what is on the court right now is LYING to themselves . And no Ryan Carr ain’t fixing it either that’s a cope as well . the old saying goes . “ the more things change the more they stay the same”

If IU does NOT make the tournament, what are the chances they decide to play in the crown tournament if invited. They seem like the perfect team for it. Brand recognition plus a team full of seniors also chance to win some extra NIL cash.

People used to laugh at us and say "Tom Crean won two Big Ten titles in 4 years and IU fired him anyway" now they are gonna laugh at us and say "Mike Woodson made 2 NCAA tournaments in 4 years and IU forced him our anyway."
