This is it for me - don't get wrong I enjoyed the search and loved that people shared what they could but ultimately there's something to be said about hungry and having something to prove. As we've all mentioned during this search there seemed to be high floor- low ceiling guys and low floor-high ceiling guys - I love us taking the latter.

To quote a classic: 'Love the one your with... and she said 'you ain't seen nothing yet''... Honestly I'm just excited to see what he gets as a team. If 10% of what I hear about CW is true and coach D work ethic is close to what some have said - it'll just be nice to have an engaged coach. My wife's family are 50+ years of U of E season ticket holders and i remember watching Drake in his first years - it was pretty darn amazing the turn around. That's with Drakes budget and reputation- the sell job to get those kids there and believing was nuts. Do I think we brought in a ringer? Nah but I think the possible ceiling is real high. He's hungry- be nice to have a coach that is... (my father in law already texted me 'we got a damn good coach' and he doesn't cuss)

Agreed with all of this - would add kudos to Iowa for recognizing that there is 2 outstanding coaches waiting for the job to open up - unlike us last year they read the writing on the wall and took the chance this year - I think we outbid them for one but 2nd place in these 2 is a bit of a chance game - both solid choices. Hopefully they are smart enough to up their NIL game and get on3 of them

Agreed- i was in the stands those first 3 years of Crean- every home game and we saw those kids give everything they had and while it wasn't sold out the crowd that was there responded in kind.

Sheesh - how many times has this been done? It feels like what I tell my wife when shes asks if some really annoying to-do thing is done yet and I just know I'm gonna get around to it so I say 'yeah it's done' (but then later get busted cuz it's not really done) (Not giving you a hard time @Hoosierfanyuh)

Portal opens 24th - just need to get it done before then - but I bet it's Wednesday if its not an active coach who is coaching - give a day (today) for cleaning house (moving out current staff where necessary) - next day give new coach a chance to get his bearings then do the real stuff like announcement the next day. Plus I like hitting the news cycle on Wednesday or Thursday - lots of people watching NCAAs so you're fresh news. My 2 cents.

Absolutely love the @Chris007 info - i fell like 95% of us do - honestly it's one of the reasons i stay on this board and not the 4 others i belong to - new ideas, rumors, and inside info aren't automatically rejected or freaked out about.

Look at his followed by list (32k but focus on Trilly and others who are 'plugged in'). It's hard cause we are a paranoid bunch of previously damaged nut bags (see last 2 hires or last 20 years of basketball) so when one gets spun up it doesn't take long for us all to. (Definitely including myself in this analogy)

I do think it's interesting that McCollum went on Dickitch - I mean I don't listen to him but when I kinda paid attention didn't he usually have buddies and contacts he had from his coaching and iu days? Maybe putting himself out there to IU fans?
