  1. He's a bad basketball coach, and now he is facing a crisis management situation, which I am positive he does not know how to deal with. So far he has managed the crisis by dodging media obligations, not good.
  2. The geniuses worried about optics with Woody somehow miss the ENORMOUS optics issue with being a terrible team that constantly gets blown out.
  3. These idiots need to stop meddling with IUBB. They know jack **** about how to hire the right coach and manage a successful program.
  4. He's been here for six months and he thinks he can make the rules.
  5. I like you Luke, but you've been here a few months. Most of us have been around for decades. And in that short amount of time you've already acquired the Woody loser program blame the fans BS. Talk turnaround when you actually do it on the court. This is 100% on Woody and the players. They're lucky fans even show up anymore.
  6. Yea. Like I wouldn't want to throw Calbert into this mess, it's unfair to him. Make Woody stick with the mess he made. Same goes for all the morons that backed him to stay another year.
  7. I need an update on the stakeholders! Is a coaching change even on Dolson's mind right now? Cathy!!!
  8. Eddie White still has some pictures up from when he was a guest of Woody's at the KU game. Of course he had to delete one...
  9. After the KU loss last season IIRC.
  10. Somehow this is only an IU issue? Plenty of pressure at UK, KU, UNC, and other basketball schools and their players over the years have done just fine. What a silly excuse.
  11. Spot on. Pre-NIL there was an art to recruiting, which included quite a bit of under the table compensation. With all that above board now, many more coaches can be successful. I think 10+ coaches could do well at IU with our top 5 or 10 payroll. Just pick any good X’s and O’s guy that plays a modern style and we are 75% of the way there.
  12. Freddie is playing in Japan right now. Could he be connected over there and tweeting? Just thinking out loud. I don’t know.
  13. IN: Scott and Pam running the show like with Cig and FB OUT: A mix of 10 or so trustees, donors, and other administrators fighting and fumbling around to find a bball coach Save us Scott!
  14. I think they will root against the next coach so they can try to prove a point to the "IU fanbase" (IU fans on X), who they despise for whatever reason. I've even seen SDB take shots at Cig because IU fans are excited about him. If there are any people in the program like these two, they gotta go.
  15. If we lose tonight, that’s 13-5 and 4-3 in conference. Doesn’t look like a record that gets someone fired midseason. I don’t really care. This season was likely a failure the minute we kept Woody. It’s unlikely anyone on our staff could materially improve this team.
  16. Gotta maintain those “optics.”
  17. “Boy Wonder” is still intact. He moved to GM and made key moves to win an NBA title. He can do it all on the world of bball.
  18. Despite constantly shooting itself in the foot (or face), IUBB is very special.
  19. It's up to about $22M for all schools, increasing by a few percent each year. This is a result of the class action lawsuit that is close to final, but not yet final. Check out House vs. NCAA. It will be up to the schools where the $22M goes -- FB, BB, etc. In general, it's expected 75% or so will go to FB for most schools, since FB generates most of the revenue. Keep in mind the $22M rev share is separate from NIL. Schools like Minny will get a boost from the rev share, but other schools can still outbid them with NIL on top of the rev share.
  20. We could have not opened the checkbook and Cig probably goes somewhere else, the AP Coach of the Year is in high demand. He's not a slam dunk, but he is the best we can do by some margin. We had to take a calculated risk and lock him up. If we didn't, just shutdown our football program and we'll move to a smaller conference.
  21. He reduced his IU buyout $5M in exchange for no buyout offsets. He got the best of that deal.
  22. Yea, I’m pretty sure our FB NIL was a little over $4M last year, which is probably around 30-40th in the country it’s hard to know. And as we know BB is around $6M and top-5. Woody wasted it all. I wish Cig could have got a few million more last year instead. On the bright side, 75% of the revenue share will go to FB, and FB NIL keeps climbing. More money is heading to Cig where it will be used wisely to produce results.
  23. I saw Nebraska VB actually turned a small profit, which is pretty amazing. As people have noted our VB crowds have been improving as well, we may not be turning a profit but Wilkinson is nice facility.
  24. Wow. I'm surprised he would move down from the B1G to the ACC -- playoff spots, media rights, everything is worse. Must be a nice pay bump. Maybe the fit with PSU wasn't good? Again, surprising.
  25. Hmm. Interesting. I just don't see it. We're around $6M for BB and that would mean $12M+ for FB. Big FB programs spend $12M on their rosters, I can't think of enough players on our team that could add up to $12M. I heard a little over $4M for FB this past year. Anyways, I could be wrong. Thanks for the info, this is what message boards are for. I'd love to know our NIL level for FB next year.
