  1. The one constant in life is change. Lamenting something isn’t going to bring it back. The fact is, in a generation or so, kids being recruited will have no concept of not being paid. It was a shock to folks when the forward pass was introduced to football. Or when the designated hitter and interleague play was made part of baseball. The “traditionalists “ went bonkers. Change happened and now is accepted as part of the games, damn the traditionalists. it’s okay. Life will go on. And we’ll continue to root for the program we love.
  2. So you would be happy working for a company that capped your salary? You said that the players weren’t worth the money, yet the networks shelling out millions, to broadcast these guys playing, would say otherwise.
  3. So, would you work for free because your company is who draws business, not you?
  4. You not serious, right? It’s the first year of a rebuild. Overreact much?
  5. Remember 11 days ago when people were panicking because we had no commitments?
  6. May have been “taking off “. But one season as a sub and about half of another hardly puts him in the conversation with guys who played and started 3-4 years ago. Try putting him in context with those guys and then make your case at how hysterical it is.
  7. Good story to tell your wife or significant other given it’s Little 5 weekend. :)
  8. Ahh… the false narrative of OG at IU lives on. Freshman year played in 34 games but a little less than 14 mpg. Clearly a sub. Averaged 1.4 DRB per game. 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per game. Sophomore year, 25 mpg in 16 games before he got hurt. 3.7 DRB per game. 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. No idea how this “prowess” constitutes qualifying for one of the best defensive players all-time at IU.
  9. Supposedly, Beard had been talking Perry up throughout the tournament and had tried to recruit him last year. I don’t think this was a tampering thing
  10. Per 24/7, Perry has committed to Ole Miss
  11. Ex-Monteverde and Buckeye, Sean Stewart enters the portal
  12. Commits to Ol’ Miss
  13. Julian Reese from Maryland has entered the portal. Another one of these guys hoping that the courts rule for a fifth year of eligibility
  14. Goode is an exceptional student. He also has something that this fanbase has been clamoring for for a long time—a high basketball IQ. Finally, he was the starting quarterback at FW Homestead, not a bad program. He has the quick thinking and decision making needed to play that position, and the toughness as well. This team may have recruited better shooters than Luke, but no one has the combination of intangibles he brings to the team.
  15. Played his first two years at FSU. His minutes at FAU just about matched his minutes per game his sophomore year at FSU, but his numbers almost doubled playing at a lower level of completion.
  16. None of those 3 played v 3 teams who made the playoffs the previous year in the first month of the season.
  17. One thing I will take into consideration is that IU has scheduled some high level games, but they are all against programs more established than us, and all happen relatively early in the season. Based on past results, I have confidence that CDD is going to put together a well-coached and competitive team, but it’s going to take some time for a bunch of portal guys to develop a cohesive unit. The Marquette, UL, and UK games are considered marquee contests that can significantly improve the resumes when the tournament committee picks the seeds. I hope we play competitively in these games and can win at least one of them. However I fear that the fanbase is going to melt down if we struggle. Regardless of the money and resources we have, none of that can blend a group of individuals into a team. Only time, coaching, and the willingness to work together will do so. Long season. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
  18. https://www.si.com/college-basketball/inside-look-at-life-as-one-of-the-most-tampered-with-players-in-college-basketball Sounds like a great young man with a good head on his shoulders. His dad has coached him and has lots of connections in the college coaching world. Hopefully, KJ is one of them
  19. You are correct. User error
  20. Brandon Huntley- Hatfield, 6’10” from NC State enters portal. Was a 5-star prospect out of high school. In 26 mpg last season averaged 7.2 ppg, 5 rpg on 50/33/80 shooting. The year before he played 31 mpg averaging 13 and 8 on 57/43/67 shooting. 1 year remaining
  21. It’s symbolic. He was crippled by CMW, and now that he’s committed to UW, he’s miraculously better:)
  22. If Tucker is welcomed back, is that an acknowledgment that the Goode return is off the table?
