Glad Stevens didn’t get that offer as we would be back to the argument about hiring an”IUguy.” -

Not sure what that has to do with anything. If the system that they are put in sucks, no amount of money is going to make them look good -

Goal was accomplished. Woodson was fired. Really necessary to now pile on the players? Don’t you guys have anything better to do? The performance on the floor is a direct correlation to the coaching the players got. Rice wasn’t all-PAC-10 because he sucks. -

From everything that has been discussed on here, I’d say that the preliminary talks have already happened. -

Not sure how old you are, but there’s a part of this that you’re missing. Family ties become more important as life progresses. The desire to be closer to his parents can’t be dismissed. Stevens has made plenty of money. He’s been successful everywhere he’s been in his basketball career. His parents are at the stage in life where you never know. Being able to help them if needed may override his position in Boston. From everything I have read about Brad, he was raised in a very supportive family. Maybe he feels it’s time to repay his parents for all their love and support. -

You guys aren’t even close since you’re talking “in history.” There are guys back in the early days with winning percentages in the 20 and 30 percent range -

I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m just saying that they have laid out how they are going to handle this and they won’t sway from that. It’s not so much to protect Woodson. It’s to ensure he doesn’t go off on the people who he thinks “forced him out.” -

Not sure why there’s an up in arms reaction to Woodson’s not discussing his retirement. The official statement said that he would talk about it “at the appropriate time.” They are going to manage and control every part of this process to ensure that nothing is said to denigrate the program. Open a press conference to the media and who knows where the conversation goes. They managed the discussions leading up to the announcement. They managed the announcement. They will continue to manage this up to, and through the naming of the next coach -

Not a good ending for the Hoosiers but the game v pUKe where Mo Creek went for 31 points was a highlight in a bad season. Gave fans some hope that brighter days were ahead. Such a tragedy that he got injured and never reached his potential

Interesting how things get spun these days… Izzo has had a blind eye to multiple felonies in his program and is still a media darling Kobe raped a woman and is revered , even posthumously Rothlesberger assaulted multiple women and suffered no repercussions. DeShaun Watson assaulted even more and was rewarded by being made the face of the Browns along with a check for $145 million If Beard agreed to a short leash with mandatory counseling, he deserves the chance to prove he’s not who he was -

Not upset at all. And thanks for the lesson on what social media has become. Actually, feel bad for the person who has to stoop to making those kinds of comments. Almost like they have nothing intelligent to offer to the discussion, so why not say those kind of things. And, even sadder still, the person who made those comments did grow up when people cared what was polite, civil, or in good form. The poor job performance should be the only thing Woodson is judged on. All the myriad other reasons are only valid as opinion. -

The same person who said there should be a special place in hell for certain members of Woodson's inner circle also called him a POS. It's easy to hide anonymously behind some user name on a message board and say things you would never say to someone face to face. In my opinion, shows the true character, or lack thereof, of the person making those comments. Much more than of the person the comments are directed towards. The other things you mention are all opinion or conjecture. Criticize away at the job performance. I agree that he needs to go based on that. -

Nah, no person deserves to be called a POS or told that there’s a special place in hell for them, just because they failed at their job.
